"I couldn't. You are friends with Magnus. Do you think I'm stupid enough to leave you alone?"
"You were stupid on killing those innocent people."
"They were not innocent. You know what they did to me."
"They did nothing to you, Dark. The teachers had your back-"
"Do you want me to lose my sanity on you?"
Pit went silent after that. His eyes closed as he sighed, holding Dark's hand tightly. He lowered his head, resting on Dark's arm. Dark sighed after realising what he had said.
"I'm sorry, Pit. Those murders were payback after what they've done."
Pit lifted his head and his face had a sad expression. Dark could not tolerate seeing him sad, but kept his pity bottled up.
"Who was that back at the apartment?"
"I don't know if you remember but it was Anna... Science honors."
"Oh, yeah..."
The two kept silent, still holding hands firmly. The atmosphere was very tense in that cold room. Pit took Magnus's jacket; which was hanging over his shoulders, and put it on. He moved his seat closer to the bed so that Dark would not be uncomfortable reach out to Pit.
"Pit, I must confess you something..."
"What?"
Dark swallowed and gripped Pit's hand.
"It... It was me... That night..."
Pit got confused by this, until it sunk completely. His eyes opened widely in shock...
"...W-What?!"
"...I snuck into your room and had... the feeling to kill you... But I didn't..."
Pit's jaw slowly dropped, but kept silent and his grasp firm.
"...After seeing your face, you were so terrified... I got my senses together in time to realize it. But I hurt you to get you knocked out anyway..."
Pit saw a tear run down on Dark's face. He noticed how much it pained him to do that, but scarred Pit deeply...
Pit was in a state of pure shock. His mind could not make words to say what he feels about this.
"...I... I don't know what to-"
The door opened revealing a nurse. She got a tiny kart inside the room with medical supplies.
"I'm sorry but I've to ask you to leave. I must change his bandages and he needs to rest as well."
"Alright, miss."
"Thank you."
Pit stood up looking at her and nodding, still holding Dark's hand. He looked down and Dark who's eyes showed sadness.
"Then I'll... see you tomorrow?"
"Yes, Dark. You will."
Pit leaned over and kissed Dark on the forehead. He walked passed the nurse and closed the door behind. He looked to his sides and saw Magnus sitting down on a chair talking on his walkie-talkie. He walked towards him to catch his attention, catching a small conversation instead.
"Yes, it'll have to wait until the situation gets better."
Pit tapped on Magnus's shoulder, who looked up after that.
"Hey, Pit. How is he?"
"He is still in pain, of course. But everything is fine so far."
"Good. Let's go to take you back home."
Pit and Magnus walked down the hallway to the exit. Pit's mind was deep into what Dark had confessed to him...
Back at the room Dark felt lonely and his heart ached. It was not a good combination with hits from a bullet. The nurse smiled at him while she got the bandages from his chest.
"He is such a sweetheart."
Dark smiled at her compliment for Pit. He closed his eyes and imagined him in the room, making company.
"Indeed... I'd give my life for him..."
