Raphael is the third archangel, after Lucifer and Micheal. He doesn't have much of a story because, he was in the shadows for a while. After Lucifer was banished he began to talk to Micheal more, but his story really doesn't pick up until centuries after. When I left heaven Raphael and Micheal took over, but for the most part Raphael only took orders from Micheal.
Once, the apocalypse happens and Micheal is put back into the cage with Lucifer Raphael takes over heaven. This is where is story really begins. I went undercover as a prophet of the lord during the apocalypse, my name was Chuck Shurley. I actually prefer to be called Chuck, because the name god is a bit to formal for my liking. Raphael was mostly protecting prophets during my absence from heaven, but after the apocalypse he got back into heaven and tried to start the apocalypse again. While trying to take charge of heaven, he actually fought a war against an angel named, Castiel. Raphael allied with Crowley, who is the King of Hell and took power back in heaven, only to be killed by another angel. When it comes down to it he didn't do much because, he was usually in the shadow of others, but when he did try doing things, I found myself routing against him.
