Metatron is often mistook as an archangel when in fact, he was just an angel who never asked to be my scribe. I told him he was just the first person I saw in the room, but he was really something more. I had planned for months ahead, trying to figure out who to pick as my scribe and how to tell him after I decided. When he was done writing down my word, I left and soon after he fled to live with native american tribes in the mountains. When in the tribes land he promised to save them from sickness and war as long as they told him stories in return. This continued for hundreds of years and the only way the natives new he was still alive was by the books disappearing from the hallway everyday.
He remained at peace until the Winchesters came for his help in sealing the gates of hell, while using the demon tablet. Metatron then used the angel tablet to lock all angels out of heaven, except for him and others he wanted in. Once he realized heaven was lonely with only him in it, he began rebuilding and tried to take over as god, but it didn't work and the others took heaven back, striping him of his grace. He remained in heaven's jail as a human, although he was broken out a few times for information and in the end he lived a normal human life. Even when Metatron was human he wasn't good at it and became part of the scum of the Earth, but through this all he was still the best person I'd ever meant because, he realized what even I couldn't.
During most of my time on Earth I thought of Metatron and couldn't understand why until it had been a few decades. I slowly realized that Metatron was more than my scribe, he was my best friend, the person I could turn to in my time of need, and most of all the man I loved.
I flipped the last page and looked at Chuck, opening my mouth, but then closing it again because, I couldn't figure out how to say I loved him too. After a few minutes I finally found my words and looked him in the eye before saying, "I love you too, Chuck."
