Sincere

The next morning, I slowly opened up my swollen eyes, immediately being able to feel how sore and weak my body was. Effrin beat the life out of me and I don't blame him for doing it. I only got in a few licks but I deserved it for destroying a good relationship. Maybe I didn't deserve to get beat up all night long but I deserved something.

I slowly turned over, the carpet rubbing against all of the bruises, cuts and scrapes all over my body. I looked up above me at the bed where Effrin was sleeping. He refused to have me sleeping in a bed with him because of how dirty he claimed me to be. I got up and sat on the edge of the bed in front of him. I know he's mad about this but he can't hold a grudge like this. I got over him cheating and he needs to get over me cheating. It's only right.

I placed my hand on his arm and slowly rubbed it. "Effrin," I whispered, looking down at how angry he looked while he was sleeping. Normally he'd be peacefully sleeping but he looked beyond pissed off right now and he wasn't even up.

"Hey wake up," I said, slightly shaking him but he didn't move. I leaned down and pecked his lips, even though my busted lips were sore from last night. "Effrin get up." I shook him a little harder but he didn't even open up his eyes.

He turned away from me while pulling the covers up around his body.

I sighed, already knowing he was up but he wanted to ignore me. "I know you're up Effrin, please don't do this to me." I waited for a response or some type of motion...but nothing. I leaned over him as tears started to pour out of my eyes on to his arms. "You can't do this baby. We can work through this. Please?" I asked him.

He turned over yet again, with his stomach lying across the bed now. He pulled the covers over his entire body trying to block me out but I wasn't having it. "Look what you did to me last night Effrin. I know you were mad but you beat the hell out of me. You hurt me badly."

"You don't think you hurt me badly either?" He asked with his face still buried under the covers.

"I know I did and I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry Effrin."

"You don't mess around with dirty people like him Sincere. You don't do that kind of shit to a good guys like me. You know I'm a horrible person but you were the person holding me down. You were supposed to be my ride or die and you left. You can't do that stuff."

"I'm trying but you're pushing me away Vinny. How am I supposed to be your ride or die when you won't even look me in my face?" I asked, pulling the covers off of him.

Even though I pulled the covers off of him he kept his face buried in his pillow. "Because I don't wanna see what I did to you last night."

I sniffed. "Why? You're gonna see it anyways, you might as well look at how badly you beat me." He smacked his lips and turned over, looking at how bruised and cut up my body was. "I know I did you horrible but nobody deserves anything like this," I said, referring to how bad my body looked right now.

"You hurt me Sincere," He explained.

"You hurt me too," I replied looking down.

He sighed. "Don't try to make me feel bad for you when you bought this upon yourself. I didn't tell you to go out and sleep around with him for the past seven months and then come back home with me like nothing happened. Nah, that wasn't me. I didn't take part in that, you did. It's on you and it's on him. The both of y'all did this to yourselves, not me. Don't ever put the blame on me for some something you did Sincere, don't ever do it."

"Okay, I'm sorry."

"Stop apologizing and crying. Do something about everything you caused," He said.

"What am I supposed to do when you won't even listen to me?"

"I'm listening right now."

"Alright, you wanna try to work through things? I know it's gonna be hard for you to earn my trust back but please Effrin. You know you're all I've got. I don't know what I would do without you."

He smacked his lips. "I bet you weren't thinking about all of that when you was sucking his dick. To think that my mouth was on yours after you gave him head. I bet you didn't even brush your teeth. I bet you swallowed too, didn't you," he asked. I looked down but he yanked my face back up. "I asked you a question. Did you or did you not?"

"I did."

"And I bet you let go in raw didn't you?"

I nodded my head. "Yeah but it was only once Effrin, I promise."

"Why are you making promises to a nigga you're not even with any more? Don't make any promises to me, I could give less than a damn about your promises."

When he said those words, tears just began pouring out of my eyes. "Effrin please don't say that. You know you're all I have! You're the only person who's stuck with me all of these years."

"Yeah, because I should have looked around and realized why everybody left. I should have left your crazy ass years ago so I wouldn't have gotten caught up in your nonsense."

"What are you trying to say Effrin? You know I left my family because I loved you and they didn't. You didn't have to deal with your family hating the person you love. Your family accepted me."

He just looked at me and sarcastically laughed. "You were a mistake Sincere. I wasted years of my life dealing with you. I could have been doing so much more instead of being caught up with your dumb games. I swear this is the last time you're ever going to screw me over. I hope you have a good life with him. I hope that dead baby was his too."

"Effrin! How could you say that to me?" I exclaimed. I know what I did was wrong but he didn't have to bring in the innocent baby we lost.

"Because you're a hoe, a soon to be single, baby mama walking around with his kids when he's not doing a thing for you when you could have just stayed with me, a guy who used to care about you. I hope you catch some disease that kills you. You can die for all I care Sincere. You're nothing but another hoe, just looking to take somebody's money. Don't ever think something's ever going to happen between the two of us again," He said, turning away from me and pulling the covers back over his head.
