It took Chris four days to go over to Liam's. Even then it wasn't easy for him. He felt like he was going to throw up when Liam answered the door. The two looked at each other for an uncomfortable amount of time before Liam made room for Chris.
"Come in," he said.
Chris hesitated, but eventually went inside. The house felt like a stranger to him. Liam led him to the living room, and Chris felt out of place. No one else was home. It was just the two of them. Chris wasn't sure how that made him feel. He didn't want to kiss Liam again. But he did. He was confused. It would have been easier if he fell off the roof.
"Don't ignore me," Liam begged in a whisper. "Please."
Chris couldn't bring himself to look at Liam.
"Chris I didn't mean to kiss you. I didn't think when I did it. I understand if you didn't want it, and I'm sorry."
Chris mumbled something.
"What?" Liam asked.
"I did," Chris repeated, so quietly Liam almost missed it again.
"Y-you did what?" Liam asked nervously.
"I wanted to kiss you. I've wanted to kiss a few . . . guys before." Chris felt so ashamed.
"There's nothing wrong with being ga-."
Chris looked up. It was the first time he looked at Liam since going inside.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence," he warned. "Because there is. For me, there is."
Liam understood the bandage.
