Chapter 31

Cyrus

I was going to provoke Cole. I know i know. Call me a kid or whatever but i was going to win this mini war that cole had started. I wasnt going to just stand there and do nothing while some other male flirted with my mate. Speaking of mate my wolf and i wanted to see her.

Callimg her phone she didnt pick up making me frown. Perhaps she was with her friends? Afterall they needed her just as much as i needed her. Except for cole that is. I knew he didnt had the right intentions of hanging around my mate.

I had just reached my door when it was opened to reveal giovanni. Who looked really stressed out.

"Whats wrong?" I asked.
"We have a traitor amongst us," giovanni said, as he walked past me.
"Are you sure? How do you know?" I asked.
"Our patrollers have spotted movement amongst the boarders in the forest," he said.
"Have they found out who it is?" I asked.
"No. They just keep to the shadows," he said.
"Why havent our patrollers attacked them then?" I asked.
"They havent done anything yet. We dont have a reason to attack at them," giovanni said.

The thing that i liked the most was that giovanni was a fair alpha. With one look in his direction you couldnt tell he was an alpha.

"Good point. Well i am going to see lizzy," i said.
"You have accepted her havent you?" Giovanni asked
"Yes. She's quite different human," i said, smiling.
"You shouldnt compare her to your dad," giovanni said.
"I know and since i have marked her i feel the need to be with her constantly," i said.
"Why dont we introduce her to the pack?" Giovanni asked.
"Really? I mean are you sure?" I asked.
"Of course i am. If i wasnt then i wouldnt be offering," he smirked.
I smiled and said, "well i better get going."

Giovanni nodded and the two of us walked out of my room going our separate ways. Going to my car i drove towards lizzys house. I parked a few paces before lizzys house. I wondered how to approach her. Sge wasnt picking up my calls. It had me worried that perhaps something had happened to her.

'Or it wiuld be possible that she was with that dickhead cole?' My wolf scoffed

The thought of lizzy with cole alone in her room made me jealous. I didnt like cole one bit. He didnt had good intentions with my mate. Throwing caution to the wind i got out of the car and entered through the backyard. Conviniently enough her room was on the second floor with a tree next to the window. Typical.

Climbing the tree wasnt hard enough but as i reached the window and knocked on the door but there was no answer. Wasnt lizzy home? Perhaps she wasnt. Perhaps she was out? With cole? I shook the thought away and knock again.

This time i heard padding of feet as they came towards the window. Thank goodness she wasnt with cole!

"Cyrus! What are you doing here?" Lizzy asked as she opened the window.
"Let me in first and then i will tell you. This branch is going to break," i said.

Lizzy stepped aside as i jumped through the window and landed safely on the balls of my feet. Straightening up i turned towards lizzy.

"Why werent you answeing my calls? I was so worried!" I exclaimed
"Oh um i was out with dad. We were catching up and i just didnt see your calls," lizzy said.
"I thought you were with that idiot cole," i scowled.
"He's just a friend Cyrus," she said.
"I still dont like him," i scowled.

Lizzy hugged me tightly as she wrapped her arms around me. I inhalled her sweet scent and felt myself relax.

"Sorry for worrying you," lizzy said.
"Its ok mate. I was wondering something," i said, moving away from the hug.
"Yes?" She asked.

Lizzy looked beautiful in her casual attire.

"Do you like cole?" I asked
"Of course i do. He's my friend," Lizzy said.
"I am not asking in this sense Lizzy," i said.

My wolf and i both wanted to ensure ourselves that our mate was truly ours. Even though i knew that lizzy wasnt like the dating type we werent sure either. Since she was a human; our mate bond wasnt very strong. I couldnt feel every emotions as i would have felt if my mate had been a wolf.

"No! Of course not! How could you even ask that? Theres only one male person in my life other than my dad. And thats you," Lizzy said.

She looked into my eyes and i knew that she meant every word she said. It made me feel a tad bit guilty on the inside that i was doubting her. Doubting my mate.

"Sorry i just wanted to confirm," i said sheepishly.
"Its ok," lizzy smiled, but i knew that inside she was saddened.

'Cyrus its urgent,' Collin said
'What?' I asked, slightly annoyed at being interrupted.
'Catlins missing,' he said

Instantly i began to worry. I knew that catlin was being bullied at her school even though she didnt say anything about it. Catlin couldnt lie even if it would sav her life. And she also knew that i could kill anybody who hurt her.

"Whats wrong cyrus?" Lizzy asked, snapping me to attention.
"My mom needs me for some urgent business. I will see you tomorrow," i said.
"Ok. But call me once you finish your work will you? Otherwise i will worry," she said

That made me smile. Atleast she worried about me.

"Sure thing."

With this i got out of the way i had come in: the window. I just hoped that catlin hadnt crossed the territory line. If she had she would be considered rogue. Whether wolf or not she's part of the pack. I hope i find her alive and healthy.
