Chapter 10- Getting To The Farm

I woke up to the sun shinning in my eyes I turned around to get away from it and ended up in Daryl's chest.

"Mornin' Sunshine." Daryl said i lifted my to look into his eyes. They seemed a brighter blue.

"Morning Dixon." I told him and looked around the car I didn't see Kyla.

"Where's Kyla?" I asked.

"Helpin' pack up." Daryl replied. I looked up at him confused. Pack up? Where would we go?

"Where're going to the farm that Carl, Lori, Shane and Rick are at." He told me I nodded and got up and put my boots and got out of the car with Daryl close behind.

I noticed Kyla putting food and water on one of the abandoned cars while Carol wrote on the windshield in white spray paint.

"Anything I can do to help?" I asked aloud.

"Look through the cars again in case we missed anything?" Dale asked getting on top of the RV to keep watch. I turned on my heel and headed toward the other abandoned cars and started to look through them with Daryl by my side

Andrea, Glenn and T-Dog came back without any luck, so we started our way to the farm. I was in Shane's jeep with Kyla with a couple bags in the backseat, Dale was behind us in the RV with Carol and T-Dog with Glenn and Andrea following behind in a blue car in front of Kyla and I was Daryl on Merle's motorcycle, crossbow over his shoulder.

"2 AM and she calls me cause I'm still awake,

"Can you help me unravel my latest mistake?,

I don't love him. Winter just wasn't my season"

Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes

Like they have any right at all to criticize, Hypocrites."

Kyla sung. I was shocked. I used to sing that song to her when she had a nightmare or our mother and step-father were having an argument.

" You remember that song?" I asked I glanced over at her then looked back at the road. She nodded and kept singing.

"You're all here for the very same reason 'Cause you can't jump the track," she kept singing I decided to join in with her

"We're like cars on a cable And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table

No one can find the rewind button, girl. So cradle your head in your hands

And breathe... just breathe,

Oh breathe, just breathe" we smiled at each other and kept singing.

"May he turned 21 on the base at Fort Bliss

"Just a day" he said down to the flask in his fist,

"Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year." Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while, But, my God, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles, Wanna hold him. Maybe I'll just sing about it."

We kept singing til the end of the song and we arrived at the farm it was huge. It was off the roads and seemed peaceful. Almost too peaceful..
