Love in the dark

An awkward introduction

    The team panicked running everywhere trying to call starfire through coms while changing into their uniforms.  They all arrived in the training room simultaneously where Starfire was their waiting fighting drones in full uniform and Nightwing was knocked out cold. She was shielding him off as best as she could but was being pushed back. The team quickly ran to the rescue as they all rushed to protect nightwing. Damien drew his sword and began rolling and weaving closer to the robots avoiding their weapons. Beast boy transformed into a saber tooth tiger and began ripping them to shreds. Blue beetle had no trouble and made short work of the androids with his advanced alien weaponry that came with his scarab.

Raven simply applied a protective shield over Nightwing and star fire and held her position. Damien cut through android after android rolling, diving, cutting, jabbing. The team were all taken back by his remarkable skills. All of them had superpowers and hadn't considered a non meta human capable of what they were witnessing. They all new Damien could fight but the way he was cutting down the androids without even taking a scratch surprised them and even intimidated them. As robin cut through the last one the team turned their attention to Nightwing who was still unconscious on the ground with a large cut on his upper brow.

Damien however was focused on the androids. They looked like their training bots but he checked their wiring and computer systems and thief were no signs of tampering. They weren't hacked so what happened. He quickly became suspicious and gave starfire a uncertain gaze. He checked all the robots and non of them showed any sign of hacking or tampering. As they finally got Dick to his feet he moaned groggily.

"Was this some sort of test?" Damien asked angrily walking towards them." Or were you two so incompetent that you couldn't handle a simple training exercise on your own?"

"Dick immediately gave him a hard glare letting him know he was agitated."

"Yes it was a training exercise ok. It was to test your fend off a wounded teammate. Nightwing was down and you all did splendidly." Starfire said upbeat. Damien snorted and pushed through the crowd bumping shoulders with everyone. He hated taking part in team exercises, he was always alone. Damien liked being alone, it gave him time to think and mourn for his mother and grandfather. Damien's  mother presumably died in a fight with her father after she tried to brainwash him and have him kill dick, or Nightwing Damien always called him Dickhead when they trained together to aggravate him.

Damien arrived in his room and put on exercise clothes. He left the tower and decided to go for a jog to clear his mind. Damien jogged letting the cool air hit his face and after he was about six miles into town he began thinking to what happened before the alarm sounded. Him and Rachel almost kissed, it was something he's been thinking about since they're first kiss at school. They're first one was suppose to be professional and strictly platonic but it became emotional and passionate.

It was so unexpected for him, he's only felt emotionally attracted to a very limited amount of people. That list included his parents, grandfather, and he even became somewhat fond of Dick Grayson but those are close family members and he knows Dick wasn't his paternal brother but Damien saw his as an extremely annoying older brother. But the thing with Raven is nothing like that, it's just friendly almost sexual or could be completely sexual and they're just denying it. He ran past a coffee shop and someone called his name.

"Damien!" A feminine voice called out. Damien immediately stopped and looked around. Hannah the girl from school stood up from one of the dining table outside. She waved and Damien scoffed. He turned around to begin jogging but Hannah ran after him and called his name repeatedly. Damien finally had enough and turned towards her.

"What?" He said with a dangerous edge in his voice.

"Nothing, I was just wanted to say hi." She said upbeat.

"Hi." Damien said turning around.

"Wait!" She blurted. Damien sighed and refaced her.

"What do you want?"

"I was gonna see if you wanted to you know hang out?"

"Why would I?" He asked skeptical.

"I don't know I mean it's just well...." she said twiddling her thumbs." I just think your kind of cute and I wanted a chance to get to know you thats all." She said smiling. Damien was a little shocked by her answer. Besides raven and his father he's never offered to spend time with anyone. Her compliment about him being cute struck him as odd but he took the compliment anyways.

"Sorry but no, I'm busy."

"Are you sure, I'll buy you some water or something. How long have you been jogging?"

"Idk like an hour maybe, I'm taking it slow today."

"Really? But your not even sweating and it's warm out."

"Yah, I keep in good shape."

"I can see that." She said holding her chin and checking Damien out. Damien quickly grew irritated.

"I'll stay for the drink then I'm gone, understand?" Damien warned. Hannah smiled and became fidgety with excitement.

"Got it." She grabbed his hand and pulled him over to a table where several girls and guys were waiting. Some looked older and some the same age. Hannah cleared her throats and got everyone's attention.

"Guys this is my boyfriend Damien Wayne."
