Chapter 53 Zayn’s p.o.v
The room was quiet and everyone was staring at me. My mum cleared her throat. “Zayn… you’re just kidding… right... Sweety?”
I can’t seem to understand why everyone is looking at me with a strange face all I can bring myself to do is repeat myself.
“Who is Jasmine?”
Kathy looks at me.
“Zayn. It’s not nice to play this joke! Would you stop saying her name!” Kathy cries out and I see tears falling down her face, my mom goes to hug her.
“Zayn… Sweety… um… do you mind if we just… leave you alone for a second… just a second…?” My mum asks with a sad expression as she holds Kathy.
“No, you can go.” With that my mum motions for everyone to fallow her out of the room and they do. All I hear from outside the door is bits and pieces of:
“Please Kathy!”
“NO! How could you even ask me that!”
“I’m just thinking for my son, Kathy!”
“So?! My daughter means nothing!? The girl who looked up to you as if you were her second mother means nothing!? I’m sorry Trisha! But I’m not gonna let him of all people forget my daughter! He loved that girl for his whole life! She was part of everything in his life and now you’re saying you want him to forget?! Jasmine would never want to be forgotten especially by him! Have you no heart!”
“I’m sorry Kathy but its best for Zayn, if he is able to forget every last thing about her then he won’t be in danger anymore! He won’t be in pain! Kathy I can’t stand to see him in the pain he was in and now… well now he’s forgotten all about it he’ll be fine!”
“Trisha how will you keep him away from her? Huh? She’s all over the media as “Zayn Malik’s love dies”! She’s on twitter, all the fans send him apologies and nice comments about HER! At every concert there will be a 'Zayn girl' or someone who ‘shipped’ them holding a sign! He’ll find out! He’ll remember maybe too! Then what? Who do you think he’ll hate for not telling him?!”
“I’ll deal with it when it happens!”
“Fine then!”
There was a long pause.
“Wait what did you just say?”
“Trisha I said; “If you don’t want Jasmine part of his life and you don’t want Jasmine in any part of his life then fine but then I’m leaving!" I’m not going to stay around the people who mattered most in Jasmine’s life when they want to completely forget about her! I’m not going to live a lie saying my Jasmine didn’t exist! That she was nothing! She was MY everything and I know Zayn felt the same way I feel about her! I’m done with all of you! I will not be part of any of your lives anymore and I hope the new Zayn does well. And Trisha don’t worry with me gone you won’t have anyone who will ruin your new secret for him. Goodbye”
There was a lot of shuffling outside the thin doors and then I heard a single sob. That was the last time I saw Kathy and the last time I would hear her name for the rest of my life.
My mum walked in shortly after whipping tears off her face with an obvious fake smile on her face. I still couldn’t keep the words form slipping out.
“Who is Jasmine?”
“Don’t worry about her, she’s not your problem anymore.” My mum said with the most serious and intense voice and from there on I never thought about who she was and forgot her name entirely.
But the funny thing about things that were mean to be is you can never forget about it even if you do for a while. Life always catches up, and fantasies always meat with reality and you discover life was not what you once thought it was.
