Hudson

I shifted the tie around my neck, to make sure it was centered on my chest. The midnight blue button up I was wearing had the sleeves rolled up to my elbows, displaying the tattoos that littered my forearms. I had gelled my hair up for the party tonight. In big city fights, much like the one tonight, it was customary to throw a formal party for introductions the night before.

"This is really sketching me out Caesar," I told my partner for the night. This was my third month in the business and I usually wasn't ever nervous about trades. The sky was almost black and it was starting to get cold out. I pulled my grey hood over my head to keep my ears warm and stuffed my hands in my pockets.

"They really should be here any minute," he looked around the empty parking garage. There was few cars in sight, but not a single person was. Within several seconds of him saying that, a loud gun shot echoed throught the air. We both jumped and my heart instantly started racing in my chest. It ricocheted off our car.

Caesar looked at me with wide eyes, "Get in the car."

Gun shots continued to bounce off the car. We both sat on the floor of the car and out our hands up over our heads.

"What do we do?!" I yelled at my partner.

"These guys know we're workin' for Tony," he shouted back, "Call him!"

Before I could dial my bosses number, we both heard the sound of sirens wailing and echoing off the walls of the parking garage.

I murmered under my breath, "Shit."

The clock on my bedside table told me it was 5:23. Meaning it was time to take Greer and Jamie to the party. I put my gun in my holster and pepperspray in my pocket, then left the room. Being dinner time, the hall way had a few people in it. Either entering their rooms with take-out food or leaving to go eat.

"We're going to leave soon," I called out as I knocked on Jamie's door then turned to knock on Greer's. I leaned against the wall and waited patiently for both girls to emerge. Jamie was the first one out, she wore a long, light pink dress with no straps and a pair of nude heels. I examined the ways her and Greer were different. They were polar opposites in all honesty. Jamie was so bright and full of life, she was purity. And I'm not saying that Greer is all darkness and corruption. Greer was just different. She wasn't bright and pure like Jamie, she was just a small contrast.

Greer's door opened and she walked out in a knee-length dress that was similar to the color of my shirt. Her silver hair was pulled up into a low bun with several strands of hair astray. It looked messy, yet completely put together at the same time. Her makeup was done flawlessly, just like it always is. But she even looked flawless without it. She was a few inches taller than normal, due to the glittery silver heels on her feet. Atlanta was on a leash at her side and was as tall as Greer's hips. She was beautiful.

"Matching huh?" Greer asked me, and pointed to my shirt.

"Coincidence, really," I told her and offered a small smile. Which is true, I didn't know Greer was going to wear the same color as me. But I wasn't going to complain about it either.

The party was hosted in a really fancy and expensive venue. Chandeliers hung from the high ceiling and the floor was pink marble. We got here just after six, which meant the party had already started. The venue was already full of several other competors, some male and some female. There was coaches, trainors, managers, guards and some family.

"You know this was supposed to be formal, right?" Jamie asked and giggled at me. I was the only one here wearing a short dress. Which I suppose wasn't as formal as I could have been. She wondered off into the crowd of people while I stayed in my place with Atlanta and let others converse around me. Hudson was somewhere trying to talk to other managers and such, to figure out every detail about the fight tomorrow night.

"He is such a beautiful dog," a voice came from my left side. I looked up to see a thin girl with light pink hair. "Can I pet him."

I cracked a small smile, it took me a minute to adjust to the fact that another person was actually opening up a conversation with me, "Yea of course. And this is Atlanta, she's actually a girl." I gave my dog a little bit of release from her leash so she could sociallize with the pink-haired girl. While this girl was entranced by my fluffy mass that I call a pet, I studied her. I guess that's what I did with people. I studied them.

She had tattoos up her arms and a golden septum piercing that matched her golden dress. There was a simple diamond pirecing right underneath her right eye, on top of her cheek bone. She had small golden gauges in her ears and piercings that followed. They reminded me of my own piercings, since I have so many in my ears.

"Greer," the girl said, "Right?"

I was thrown off guard at the fact that she already knew my name. I guess I shouldn't have been shocked, but I was.

"Y-Yea," I stammered out. I held out my hand and the girl shook it with her slender hand.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to come across as super stalkerish," she gasped, "I just know who you are."

"That's alright," I told her.

"It's nice to finally meet you, I've heard about you non-stop." She gave me a small smirk, which almost seemed sarcastic to me, but I let it slide.

"Well it's alwasy good to meet people," I nodded. Before I could say anything else Hudson appeared at my side.

"Hey," he gave me a warm smile, "Want me to take Atlanta for a minute?"

"Oh," I gave him the leash, "Yea will you take her outside for me please?"

Hudson nodded, "Of course."

"Want to go get a drink?" the girl asked and nudged her head towards the wine table. I nodded, but was still slightly uncomfortable with the idea of talking to a new person, especially at a huge party like this. However, maybe she was just as alone as I was. Maybe she didn't have anyone to conversate with either. I just let it play its course, as she made small talk on the way to the table.

"Yea sorry for weirding you out," she shrugged and grabbed a glass, "But my girlfriend and I were fighting earlier and she's not ready to talk to me. I'm not ready to talk to her either."

"That sounds like a bit of a mess to me," I grabbed my own glass and we stayed standing where we were. It was quit for a few moments as she looked at the ground. I asked, "Do you think it'll work itself out?"

"I'm not sure."

"Sorry about that." Not knowing what to do about her situation, I leaned in and gave her a weak, one-armed hug. I didn't think my gesture was that big of a deal, atleast it wasn't to me, but it obviously meant a lot to her. While I was pulling away from the hug she grabbed onto my shoulder, leaned in, and kiss me straight on the lips.

Immediately I pulled back and dropped my wine glass, causing the cup to shatter and a small crowd of people gave me a look. My mind was racing a million miles a minute and my heart rate increased dramatically. People had already looked away from my broken cup and two men had hurried over to clean it up. In my mind I thanked them, but I was too distracted to actually thank them aloud.

"I-I'm sorry," I touched my hand to my bottom lip. "I don't feel that way about girls."

"No," her eyes held obvious tears, "I'm so so sorry. I should't have done that. Ezra is going to be so mad."

"Wait." I regained my posture and stood up taller, "You're Kameron?"

She just looked at me with doe eyes.

"And you knew me the whole time?"
