Greer
Have you ever bruised your ribs? Ever broken them?
After fighting Leslie, and winning, I was put up against two more easy targets. Then, in round 4, I was paired with a woman that was atleast double my size. Her name was Kenzie Farland and I'd never seen her before in my life. Surprisingly, I was able to knock her on her back but after doing so she retaliated by throwing herself onto me.
At that point in time the wind was completely knocked out of me. A loud crack sounded through my ears, immense pain viberated my entire torso, and I immediately screamed. The referee blew his whistle and another man pulled Kenzie off of me. The beaming lights above me were blurring as my eyes brimmed with tears. Two more men jumped inside the ring but I couldn't make out their faces.
"Get the medic!" one shouted and I recognized the voice as Hudson. He knelt down beside me as I used my right hand to wipe the water from my eyes. Spencer dropped on my other side, right next to my injured ribs, and almost immediately afterwards the medic joined.

At the ER I was told I had three fractured ribs and that it would take about 2 months to heal. They gave me sport grade pain medication, and wrapped my chest in a pressurised bandage before they sent me on my way. It was almost three in the morning by the time Hudson, Spencer, and I left the ER. We still had to be packed and out of the hotel by 9am so we could catch our flight home. Honestly, all I wanted to do was crawl into that bed and snuggle up right next to Atlanta.
Hudson was being so good through all of this, I told both Spencer and him that they could leave several times throughout the night but they stayed. Spencer dealt with all the paper work while Hudson didn't leave my side once.
We all walked out to the Uber, considering we came here in the ambulance. My right arm was wrapped around Hudson's torso as he helped me walk without moving my body too much.
"Are you doing okay?" Hudson asked on our way back to the hotel.
"Well," I shifted my gaze from the window to look at his dimly lit face, "I've definitely been better."
He snickered and shook his head. As the streetlights passed outside I caught glimpses of his smile in the dark. I slightly smiled too, he was a lot better looking than I had ever noticed before. Usually I'm too caught up in my own head acknowledge simple things. I always pay attention to the more complex details in life. But looking at him now, he was simply a gorgeous man.
The car ride restored to silence after that, we were all much too tired to speak. Spencer was on my right side and basically asleep against the window, while Hudson was on my left and had his head leaded back against the head rest. He was extra careful with his right arm in order to make sure I didn't get jabbed in the ribs. After another few minutes of driving, we arrived back at the hotel. Spencer had fallen asleep by then so I shook him awake and he headed straight upstairs while Hudson walked me to my room. The pain killers I was given had taken over and I wasn't feeling too much. But I was also exhausted.
Hudson
Greer's hair, which was once in space buns on the top of her head, was now in a messy, frizzy pony tail. Several strands of hair had fallen out and were now framing her face. She was still in her kickboxing shorts, but was wearing a hospital T-shirt instead of her sports bra. The nurses had to cut it off to get to her injured ribs. She wore my blazer over it all and the silky material went down to right above her knees.
Her eyes were still puffy from all her crying and she honestly looked like she was ready to pass out any minute. I didn't blame her either, I felt the same way. Despite the fact that she was ready to to go bed, she was still beautiful. And I couldn't help but see nothing except her beauty. I was losing my mind over this girl. Everyday with her ends up being better than the last.
