Elena
"If I tell you this, you have to promise to keep it to yourself, no one else." Before I revealed my death sentence of a secret.

"You know something, you're a drama queen." The deep masculine voice spoke.

"Ha ha, very funny." I ran my hands through my hair.

"Are you just gonna sit there playing with your hair or tell me the secret you've been hiding the past week."

"I don't know, at first I wanted somebody to know. Now you sitting here makes me nervous." I told him.

"Elena you're not making any sense."

"You don't understand, Stefan. This isn't just a secret you tell everyone it's personal. Plus how much do I really know about you, I only met you what 3 weeks ago?" He stood up, and held my shoulders.

"Were friends, and it will give us something to talk about on our morning drives." He mentioned.

"It's not something I really wanna spend a ton of time talking about."

"Than why did you bring it up?" Stefan said.

"Okay fine, sit down." We sat parallel on my brown sofa.

"Finally do I get to share a secret with the Elena Gilbert?"

"If your gonna keep calling me the Elena Gilbert, I will smack you." My threat was obviously not very legit, but I count whatever type of conversation this is as flirting. Which means my now five thousand dollars will soon be mine to spend.

"That's a lot of talk and no game." He smirked.

"This has ruined people's reputations in the past, that's why I haven't told anyone. But I have no where's to live, I got an eviction notice last week." I couldn't look him in the eye.

"Ever occur to you to get a job?"

"You said it yourself, I'm the Elena Gilbert, and if I get a job I'll just be the girl that used to be on top." He gave me sincere look.

"Don't you have enough self confidence that if you work for something maybe people will admire it, and if you are on top maybe it will just inspire people."

"Than what about Demi fox?" I said.

"Demi who?" Stefan looked confused.

"Whatever, I now know exactly what I have to do." I began to walk out of my apartment.

"Wait where are you going, Elena?"

"To my closet."

"Outside of your apartment, it's just right over there." He furrowed his eyebrows.

"My old closet, at my parents house. I have a bunch of clothes and shoes that I could sell for a ka-jillion dollars." I smiled realizing this was the nonchalant way of making money without it just being a given.

"That's smart." He nodded his head.

"Are you coming? I mean unless your scared of my mother."

"Not the least, if anything happens I'll just challenge her to a intense game of call of duty." Stefan was funny, he made me laugh a lot.

"Although I find your humour charming, my mother won't."

"And what about that father of yours?" Stefan took a step towards me.

"He's a sports fanatic, but he's also a big business man so pick your topics well." I told him.

"Plus it's not like we're dating, if he doesn't like me I'll just move on with my life." Stefan added.

"Let's just go." I shrugged my shoulders and made my way to the parking lot.

"Laura! When I say place the purple flowers beside the white flowers I don't mean put them beside the blue flowers." I heard my mom hiss.

"Uh- I'm.. sorry." The maid said.

"Not now, Elena honey, what are you doing here?" Same old response, why do I have to have a reason. Can't she just be pleased that her daughter is here?

"Me and Stefan came to get some things out of my closet." Stefan came around the corner and gave her a wave.

"I see, nonsense anyway I put it somewhere' else." She flashed a smile my way.

"Well could you tell me where?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

"I'll tell you after you take the trash out." I was confused.

"Don't we have a maid for that?"

"I mean your.. company." She disgusted me, I treat people bad she just full out kills them with words.

"Friend, mom, Stefan is my friend. And right now I'm trash."

"Whatever, I cannot disclose this information to him. There is other valuable items at this location." She scowled.

"You can trust Stefan, he's a good man." I smiled back at him.

"Maybe, maybe not. You should leave now I have stuff to do." My mom walked away.

"Well that was a bust." I slouched in the drivers seat.

"It's okay, my parents had this safe with a bunch of money saved up for college. Someone stole it, so I understand" Stefan placed a hand on my arm.

"How can you do that?" I asked.

"Do what?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

"Not care what she thinks or says an hour ago but now be able to justify her actions."

"I'm confusing I guess."

"Yea." Even though I can find out where it's at after Stefan is somewhere's else, I still feel disappointed.

"I have a proposition for you if you cannot get the clothes, that's probably not enough anyway."

"What is it?" I asked.

"You can stay at my place, I have a guest room with a guest bathroom.. it's not ideal but at least until you get back on your feet." I wasn't completely apposed by his offer, It was actually kind of appealing. Plus it may help get closer to him for the money.

"That's really sweet." I touched his hand, still paying attention to the road.

"But?"

"No buts, are you sure though?" I couldn't pack up twice, and I wasn't sure if he really thought this through.

"Yeah, I wouldn't have asked if I didn't think it would be a good idea. I know we haven't known each other very long but, I do care about you." He said.

I smiled.
