Chapter Eighteen

Kehlani kicked the ball over towards Royalty. Royalty smiled and laughed grabbing the ball and throwing it towards me. I have no idea what the game plan is of this game, but, Royalty seemed to like it.
After about 5 minutes of play, Kehlani sat down because she said she felt tired. Royalty and I kept playing until Kehlani mumbled something. I looked over at her.
"What you talking bout?" I asked picking up Royalty and walking towards Kehlani.
"I said, how the fuck did I pee on myself. I ain't even have to pee." She said. I squinted as it happened again.
"Um, Kehlani, I think your water broke." I said. She looked at me wide eyed.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Nigga, I don't know. I never been around someone who water may break."
"Call your mother."
"Why?"
"Because her water broke before." I nodded then called my mother.
"Hello?"
"Ma, uh I think Kehlani's water broke."
"What?"
"She was just sitting there and all of a sudden kaploosh, water or pee just came out of her vagina."
"One, I didn't need to hear about her vagina, two, yes Im pretty sure Meme's newest grandbabies are on there way." I looked at Kehlani And Royalty. Royalty was staring at Kehlani who was gripping the chair with a death grip.
"She should be having contractions." my mother said. I nodded like she could see me.
"Get her to a hospital." She said. I hung up and looked at Kehlani and smiled.
"Are ya ready to meet our little babies?" I asked. She looked at me and shook her head.
"I'm scared." she said.
"Me too." I admitted. "But everything will be OK. I promise."
We all got to the car. Kehlani and Royalty got situated and then I ran back into the house and got some of the things we'll need and then I got in the car.
I sped to the hospital. Once we were there, the nurses walked us up to a hospital room. I filled out the paperwork as they hooked Kehlani up to the machines.
Kehlani and Royalty started watching TV. I looked up at them. Royalty sat on the bed with Kehlani. Then she laid back on the pillow. I smiled and took a picture. Then all hell broke loose. Kehlani started to have contractions. Nurses were everywhere. They looked at her and talked her through it. One nurse walked up to me and told me that we should've gone to a parenting class. I kissed my teeth and I looked down at Royalty. Then kindly said, "Bitch." Now that made Kehlani laugh. The other nurses stared at us. Royalty giggled.
"Bitch." Royalty said. I looked down at her and shook my head.
"Only daddy can say that." I said.
After Kehlani calmed down, we all sat in the room and played I Spy(Idk if it's I Spy or Eye Spy. It's probably I Spy but I be thinking it Eye Spy because I over think things a lot).
Then Kehlani had more contractions. The doctors all said she wasn't ready to give birth yet and it was too late for her to get a epidural.
After 15 long hours of waiting, the doctors said she was ready to give birth.
By that time, my mother was here and she took Royalty out to the park since she was stuck at the hospital with us that day/night before.
I text my mother that Kehlani was ready to give birth. Then the doctors made me put on this disposable suit so that I wouldn't have any of Kehlani bodily fluids, that aren't sex related, on me. Such as blood.
Then Kehlani started pushing. The first baby out was the boy. I looked at him. He had my eyes. Like Royalty did. He had Kehlani's nose, mouth, and cheeks. I smiled at him. Then about 10 minutes later, the baby girl came out. I tried my hardest not to cry. I mean, I have two daughters and a son, finally. I looked over at Kehlani. The nurses handed her the girl and the other nurses handed me the sleeping baby boy.
"I love you." I said to Kehlani. She looked over at me.
"They so beautiful." she said crying.
"I know. They look like us." She sighed.
"I want more." She said.
I looked over at her.
"Nigga, I don't know."
"Nigga, we got the money."
"Nigga, it'll be a lot of kids."
"Nigga, stop cussing." Mijo said.
"Mijo." I said. He walked up to me.
"My new niece and nephew."
"Kehlani, Chris, what y'all naming the kids?" Kehlani's aunt asked. I looked at Kehlani.
"You name the boy, I'll name the girl?" I asked. She nodded. "Jazmine Ashley Brown."
"Chris Maxwell Brown."
