Shadowraven began to shake violently. He felt cold, sick, and very upset. The things the High Judge had said were floating in his mind. "Charm, tell them to meet me in the living room. I have important news." He said, standing up. He staggered as if he'd been punched, then straightened up. "Shadowraven, I don't think a meeting in your condition is suitable." She replied. Shadowraven looked at her, a defiant look on his face. "Charm, now." He said. Charmcaster sighed and walked to kitchen, where everyone was talking to Katrina. She seemed so taken aback by all the attention she was getting. Charmcaster watched, then cleared her throat. Everyone looked up at her. "Shadowraven says to meet him in the living room. He's got important news." She said.
The team instantly straightened out and ran to the room, Keller dragging Katrina with him. Everyone sat around Shadowraven except for Charmcaster, who stood next to him. Shadowraven was still standing, his hands in his pockets. "I have grave news. The First isn't working alone. From the sudden increase in magic, he's awaken two of the three Elder Gods. Divein and Gamuza, who we haven't had time to go and check on, have been awakened. All that's left is the sleeping serpent, Ourous. He's underwater, trapped under the remains of an old vessel. According to myth, he was slain. Thing is, gods can't die, they can only be knocked into the Void for a small amount of time. The First is taking advantage of this and awakening them with his own magical power. So, what I'm saying is, who's ready to dive under the Pacific ocean and look for a ship?" He asked. Tigerblaze sighed. "We can't swim that deep. No way we'll survive the tons of pressure crushing down on us." She replied. Angel nodded, pointing to Tigerblaze as she made this point. "Kitty's right, we'll die. We either need a ship or need a ton of magic we don't have." Said the fallen. Shadowraven sighed, focusing on the Void. He thought of the cold, black mirror and reached towards an edge, the cold glass grazing against his fingers. His team watched him in confusion, surprised at his sudden silence. He tugged and the mirror appeared in front of them. Shadowraven staggered slightly, his nose and left eye bleeding. Charmcaster helped him sit down.
"The mirror is a portal... Wherever there's glass, we'll be able to appear there. The ship has its own black mirror in the hull. It's enchanted, considering it falls directly on an area where the Void is strongest. Don't worry about the oceanic pressure of anything, since the magic has built an illusion around the boat. The 'water' is really an aura, so the boat is surrounded by air and not water." He reassured. Charmcaster looked away from the mirror and towards Shadowraven. She leaned in close to his ear. "What's wrong?" She asked. Shadowraven looked up at her, smiling weakly. "The Void is taking a burden on all creatures of magic. The closer the affinity to it, the more of a toll it takes. Me, being a descendant of a major magical creature, am being affected incredibly hard. It's strange since I'm part shadow and part human, not full shadow..." He murmured. Charmcaster nodded, then handed him a tissue. He gratefully took it and wiped the blood away from his face. Some of the team and Katrina looked at him, concerned. "I'm fine, don't worry. We just need to lock up these guys and I'll be fine." He said. Charmcaster began digging in her purse and pulled out a small green vial. She handed it to the sick Shadowraven, who took it and gazed at it curiously. "It's a potion. It'll reduce your magic intake. It's meant for enemies, but you seem like you need it." Charmcaster said. Shadowraven nodded gratefully and popped off the cork, then drank it. Slowly, color went back to his pale features. He stopped bleeding and he stood up, no longer staggering. He felt better, as if he could fight the First without the help of anyone. He looked at his team and smiled.
"So, who's up for an underwater excursion?" Shadowraven asked. His team grinned happily. "I'll wait here." Katrina said.
