Chapter 14: An Awkward Dinner Conversation

Daring's P.O.V.
"I can't believe this!!" My father said as he paced back and forth. He had just found out about Rosabella's feelings for me, he was stressed about it.
I just sat there, since I couldn't think of anything to say.
"Father, I'm sure everything will be alright." I said, standing slowly.
He sighed and stopped pacing. He turned to me.
"Did you know about this??" He asked.
"Yes." I said.
He nodded and we stood in silence. After a bit, he said "Well, you'd better get ready. We are going to their castle to discuss this over dinner."
"Okay." I said. Then, he walked out of the room.
I go to my room and get myself ready. It doesn't take long because I only had to fix my hair, it had to look it's best!
Once I'm ready, I go back downstairs to my parents.
I stop in front of them.
"Are you ready?" My father asked with a stern tone.
I nodded. "Yes."

Rosabella's P.O.V.
I walk into the dining room and see my parents seated. They motioned me to sit down, I do.
"Rosabella. Our guests will be arriving soon. I hope you will be on your best behaviour." My father said.
"Yes, father." I said. I was so nervous.
Just then, a servant came rushing in. He whispered something to my dad. He nodded and said something to him, but I couldn't hear him.
A few seconds later, king and queen Charming came into the room, along with Daring. My heart raced.
"Charming's! Welcome to our castle." My dad said.
"Thank you for inviting us." Said king charming.
"Please, won't you sit down, dinner will be served soon."
They all find their seats, Daring hesitated to sit by me, but he didn't. It would only make things worse.
Once dinner was served, the conversation started.
"So, we've heard your daughter has fallen in love with our son." Queen Charming said, looking at me. I stare down at my dress.
"Yes, this is true." My mother said.
Daring looked at me, I looked at him. Someone cleared their throat, making us look up.
"Rosabella. You love my son, correct?"
King Charming asked.
I swallowed hard and forced down tears.
"Yes."
"Well, this is simply unacceptable." He said.
"What do you mean?" Someone asked, I didn't dare look away to see who.
"I mean." He said, gesturing to me.
"That your daughter can't just, fall in love with my son!"
Daring stiffened. He probably hates this as much as I do.
"You, can not, you, how could you let this happen?!" He bellowed.
My mom came to my defence. "Love happens for a reason. I say that we should just let them be together!"
"Well, I'm sure Daring has no feelings for her at all." Queen Charming said.
Daring just sat there, staring down at his feet. Everyone looked at him.
"Well, we'll just have to see how he feels." My father said.
"Daring Charming." Daring's dad said. He looked up. "Yes, father?"
"How do you feel about Rosabella?"
He stiffened again, he said nothing.
"Well? We need an answer."
His face got a little pale. He was probably terrified.
"Come on dear, tell us." His mom said.
He sighed and said, "I've never liked her."
My heart nearly stopped. I'm sure he was lying, but it still hurt.
"Well, I guess you won't mind if, you never get to see her again."
Our heads jerked up. No, not that, please not that.
"Well, we'd better be on our way." He said, standing up.
"But, you must stay and finish dinner, we haven't even had desert served yet!" My mother said.
"I'm sorry. But we really must leave."
Queen Charming and Daring stood, Daring looked scared.
They headed off towards the door. Before the king even touched it, Daring said, "Wait!!"
Everyone but him froze. "What did you just say?"
Without answering, he ran over to me and kissed me. I kissed back. And for a few moments, it was just me and him, alone...

Daring's P.O.V.
As I kissed Rosabella, I could hear gasping from around the room. When we pulled away, she started into my eyes, I stared into hers.
"So, you have something to tell us, son?!" My dad exclaimed.
"I love her." I whispered. Rosabella smiled up at me.
"What did you say?" My dad asked again.
I turned to him. "Dad, I love her. I'm sorry, but I can't help it. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me since mirrors!!" I exclaimed.
My father sighed and stared at the floor.
"Daring?" I turn to Rosabella again.
"Is that true?" She asked.
"Yes." I said.
She smiles at me. Wow, I loved her smile...
A hand grabs my shoulders, and I'm pulled back. Rosabella's eyes went wide.
I look up to see who's dragging me away. "WE are going home right now!!!" My father said as he dragged me.
My mom watched in shock, same with Rosabella's parents. They all tried to protest, but before I could say one word, my father had already dragged me out of the room.....

Rosabella's P.O.V.
I watched in horror as Daring's dad dragged him away. He tried to break free, but his dad had already pulled him out of the room.
For a while, no one said a thing. Then, queen Charming said, "Well, I'd better go. Thank you for the dinner, and I apologize for my husband."
"No worries. Thank you for coming." My mom said.
But before the queen left the room, she whispered to me, "Just to let you know, I approve of your guy's relationship."
Then, she left the room, leaving me shocked and relived...

Maddie: Wow! That is hat-tastic!! Except for the king...

Brooke: I know! I really really wish...

Maddie: It's okay! I'll just have to wait!

Male narrator: You got that right.
