As we pull away from the university I look back at what I thought would be a major part of my future. Khalil notices my staring and asks, "You gonna be okay bro?". I look toward him and smile, "Might be for the best" I chuckle. "I didn't feel like doing math this week anyway." We all give a light chuckle at the corny joke.

"Sooooo where are we going first?" Nick said looking over at Tyler in the drivers seat.

"Well, I was thinking we go to Lamar's place and he can pack some shit and we go to yours then my place." Tyler said.

"Nah bro" Khalil chokes up, "let's hit up UTG and see what we can get if anything." UTG is one of the local gear stores around town and the closest to all of us and known for airsofters like us to use.

We make it to UTG in a short drive using Tyler's knowledge of the roads and his ability to drive over rough terrain with his truck. Pulling up to the empty parking lot we hear police sirens and other emergency vehicles echo off in the distance. The normally busy street was dead silent. Given that UTG was near a liquor store we noticed the shattered glass and a few people ducking in grabbing bottles of whatever they could grab.

"Ahhh yes, it's the end of the world and El Paso does what it does best... drink they asses off." I say as I close the truck door and step toward the front door of UTG was still open.

"No, what do you mean El Paso is known for having it's priorities in order bruh." Nick said with a smile on his face.

"Good to see that even in the end times we can still be smart asses." I retort laughing holding the door open as the guys step inside.

UTG wasn't the prettiest store in the world but man does it feel like home. As you walk in on either side of you are two shelves that hold magazine pouches in black, tan, DCU, and very little in ATACS and Multicam camo.  Thewalls near the ceiling are lined with various types of plate carriers and chest rings. Beyond the shelves that greet you in the center of the room are uniforms and hats in all kinds of colors and camouflages.

"Yo, grab some fresh plate carriers and uniforms it's gonna be much better then some tired ass jeans and sneakers and shit." I say as I walk toward the ATACS uniforms.

Khalil goes behind the counter and pulls up 4 Kevlar plates. "Get em' while they're hot!" He yells jokingly.

Nick, Tyler and I move to the front of the store having changed into our new clothing. Nick wearing a 5.11 tactical polo and ATACS pants with a new pair of 5.11 boots. Tyler wears desert digital with his work boots he was wearing already. I have on my typical airsoft uniform of ATACS pants and a 5.11 combat shirt. Khalil, has on a full multicam uniform much like he normally wears.

As we walk up to the counter grabbing our choice of plate carriers I mumble out, "Well, damn I know combat shirts are supposed to be tight but... I clearly need to ease up on the hot wings." We all laugh and someone blurts out, "Yo wings sounds great right now!"

With plates in our respective carriers. We grab our weapons. M4s with our choice of foregrip and optics. We also manages to grab up 6 magazines for each of us holding 30 rounds each. We slide the magazines into the mag pouches across the front of our plate carriers and walk out the store. Placing our weapons with us in the truck and putting our plate carriers on we pull out the parking lot and hit the road. "Where to next?" I say looking out the window at the carnage building up in the distance downtown.

"Food, we need lots of it" Tyler says whipping the truck toward the grocery store down the street.

Like we figured the shelves were almost completely clean but we were able to grab enough to keep us going for a while throwing them in bags left where the baggers would be.

"Aye, this getting supplies is great and all but how the fuck are we supposed to survive in a city filled with walkers." Nick says clearly stressed with how the day has gone.

I adjust myself and lean in between Nick and Tyler from the backseat, "Well, I have someone we can link up with... problem is we need to get across the country. Upside is we can trust her for damn sure."

"Who Jade?" Khalil asks. "Yessir" I respond quickly, "But I have but one request... I want to pick up Brittany along the way."
