The Tour

After we arrived to the location Jade had given me we offloaded our bags and supplies onto the ground near the front gate. Everyone was milling around talking about various things mainly how surprised they were all this was happening. I turn around and step out the front gate and look down the open road we came down, it reminded me of home, South Carolina. I thought of my family and tears formed in my eyes but then I smile at the thought of the smiles and laughs of my parents and sisters. My three dogs chasing the cat. As I was absorbed in thought I feel a hand on my back.

"Hey, Wisconsin... you okay?" Jade said lightly as she stepped in front of me.

"Y-Yeah." I chuckle wiping tears from my eyes and look at her smiling. 

"You are a terrible liar dude." she said laughing.

"Yeah, perhaps." laughing with her.

"Come walk with me I'll give you all a tour of the compound we have here." she begins walking away with her sledgehammer thrown over her shoulder.

"So, you really got a hold of one of those things huh?" I said following close behind her.

"Of course Wisconsin you already know." she looked back at me with a smile, "Now hurry up before we lose daylight."

We stepped past the gates as she begin showing us around everyone gathered around walking with her she pointed out the first thing that caught everyone's eyes. The gallows.

"Well god damn..." I whisper running my hand over my hair, "Let's hope we don't have to use this yeah?" I said with a chuckle glancing at Jade and the rest of the group who looked in shock.

"Yeah let's hope, but I damn sure won't be afraid to." she said with a smirk, her sledgehammer making an audible clang as we all stopped to look down at her. "Let's keep moving shall we."

With us having seen the gallows, graveyard, garden, horses, medical center, CMC, storage and City Hall I began to pipe up. 

"Hey, Ziggles with everyone clearly wanting a rest how about you show us where we sleep!" I said. 

"Of course Wisconsin! I need everyone fresh and ready for tomorrow anyway so we can start getting everyone assigned to jobs and get them trained up."

We walked to where we were going to sleep. There were 10 trailers all grouped together. 

"I sleep over in City Hall, however you guys will sleep in these and to save space I prefer to group people up. Jed is with Audrey of course and I have Tanner and William together." She walked around the corner of one trailer and pointed. "This is where I want Tyler, Khalil and Nick."

Nick yells out, "Ahhh god damn it! I have to be with Booterman!", Booterman was a nickname we called Tyler to just poke fun at his last name.

"I'm not too thrilled either." he said scoffing.

"Well that's what I'm calling for. You have a problem with it... you can leave." she said with a serious tone glaring at Tyler.

We begin walking back the way we came toward another trailer.

"Over in this one I want Wisconsin and Brittany." She looked at me with a wink and smirk on her face. Butterflies form in my stomach. 

"Oh lord... I should've known you would do this." I said with a chuckle

Brittany grabs her bags and walks toward the door of the trailer and says, "Okay! Sounds fine to me!"

I glance at her and back to Jade the butterflies very subsiding as I calm down. Everyone begins to step off toward their respective trailers and Jade picks up her sledgehammer.

"Get a good nights sleep everyone! Tomorrow start more work!", everyone steps into their trailers mumbling about where they will sleep and Jade calls my name.

"Hey Wisconsin... Welcome home." she said with a smile before walking toward City Hall.
