There she is...

I wake up in the early morning and look over to my left shoulder noticing Brittany has dozed off against me. Realizing she is still asleep I try to stay as still as possible and notice Khalil has taken over driving while Nick and Tyler get some rest. The windows are rolled down and I notice the moisture in the air and gently pull Brittany closer while I nudge my face to feel the cool air.

"Aye any idea on how close we are to Roanoke?" I whisper to Khalil trying not to wake anyone up.

"Uhhh should be pulling up in a few hours actually, but do you have any idea where we are supposed to meet her?" he asked taking a turn down a side road passing a few walkers outside an old farm.

"Yeah, well kinda either way don't worry I'm sure it won't be THAT hard to find." I say with a smirk on my face.

A few more hours have passed and the sun has risen higher in the sky yet the damp air that I felt this morning was actually just the start of light rain to greet as we searched for our location. With everyone awake Nick and Tyler and I all went into our usual "Eyes outside the Vehicle" mode trying to spot anything that can lead to where we need to be. I explain to Khalil the directions I was given when Jade and I jokingly discussed if something like this was to go down where we would meet and how we would get there upon making it to the town.

Though it hadn't been long Roanoke was a mess. Cars strewn about and the streets littered with trash of all kinds. Not a soul was out but walkers did begin to populate the area around us as the truck engine was pretty loud.

"Ah!", I exclaim "down that way I recognize this!" Khalil takes the turn I point out and we drive for almost an hour before a fence appears. "Anddd I think this is it!" Khalil stops the truck out front of the fence at an angle to provide cover in the case of an emergency. We all step out rifles in hand and quickly throw on our body armor. I motion for Brittany to keep the truck in between her and the now two people who approach us weapons drawn. I didn't recognize the people exactly but could tell they were scared and probably never shot their weapons in self defense yet.

"Hey! Uh you all look scared and confused." I chuckled keeping eye contact on the weapons while glancing up at their faces occasionally. Both people were two younger looking guys I had never seen before but I was positive that this was the place.

"What the hell do you want!?" one of them yelled gripping their rifle tighter. I notice Khalil, Nick and Tyler all moving into position to protect me. I motion for them to lower their guns as I set my own rifle on the ground.

"I just have one request can I see your leader? Assuming one of you aren't in charge of course." I said with a smile. The two young men drop their weapons and one walks around a corner and disappears behind a building briefly.

He returns with a woman just behind him.

This young woman stood about 5' 3" had long dark hair and was wearing a tank top, ripped skinny jeans and wore Doc Martens. She wore glasses and had deep brown eyes. She also had a curvy figure. However, what caught my eye was the weapon she carried. It was a sledgehammer kept in pristine condition it seems and with my eyes scanning her up and down I instantly knew who it was... my Jade Ziggles. We run toward each other and hug tears building up in my eyes from excitement and I motion for the guys and Brittany to come see her as well. They all gave her a hug and smiles were exchanged.

With our hellos out the way we pick up our weapons and grab our bags and Jade slings her sledgehammer over her shoulder and with a huge smile says, "Welcome home, Wisconsin."
