"I have died everyday waiting for you, darling don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more" - Christina Perri

*Sean's PoV*

As we ate, we talked about everything and anything. He is so easy to talk to, he makes me feel like I actually have a place in someone's life. We joked and we laughed and it was the most fun I had ever had. The whole time, wondering why I didn't just bring up the courage to ask him sooner.
When we had both finished eating our dessert (cookie ice cream) he quickly stood up. "Come on, there's more!" He said enthusiastically. I also got up from the comfortable sofa chairs and followed him to the the other end of the restaurant.
"Here" he swung open the back door to reveal the most beautiful garden, filled with all different colours of flowers. Beautiful blue fountains glowing in the equally beautiful starry night sky. The pathway through the garden was laid with pale pink tiles, surrounded with rich green bushes and wooden benches.
I gasped and mark smiled back at me.
"It's so beautiful, mark" I said to him, letting a smile cross my face.
"Isn't it?" He took a step towards me and inserted his fingers into mine. We smiled at each other for a few seconds and walked across the path.
"It feels like you've done this before" I told mark "Have you?"
"First time" he smiled at me.
"What about Amy?"
"Amy, was nothing. You are here now, and I'm never planning on letting you go" he tightened his grip on my hand and got closer to me.
When we got to the bench facing the biggest lit fountain, he sat down and tapped his hand in the space next to him. I sat down with him. "Mark, thank you so much for doing this"
"Sean, you know that you are never alone. I will always be here for you and you never have to go through anything alone"
"I know" I said. I leant my head on his shoulder and watched the fountain. "No one has ever done anything like this for me" I told him.
"Well, you've been surrounding yourself with the wrong people. People who love you will do anything for you. If the people in your life are not willing to do just that, they're not real friends. What I've learned over the past three months, is that if you surround yourself with people who don't like you for who you are, then you will slowly lose that part of you that makes you who you are." I sat in silence. "Sean, I love you for who you are and don't ever lose that. Promise?"
"I promise, as long as you promise to never leave me"
"I can promise that"
"You promise?"
"I promise"
"I love you Mark"
"I love you more"
We sat in silence, watching the waterfall, leaning on each other, hand in hand. And for that moment, time seemed to stop and I finally felt the butterflies that everyone talks about. I never wanted the moment to end.
