“I cannot believe how good you are at everything! What did they teach you in Salem?” Gwen asked me loudly. It had been a couple of months since we had started classes and this was her reaction after each class. I shook my head.

“Thanks for leaving me behind” Braxton said, catching up with us. I giggled and apologized. He had gotten more and more used to me as the weeks went by. He was still a bit reserved, but I didn’t mind. Gwen told me it was the fastest he has ever warmed up to someone.

“What’s next then?” Gwen asked tiredly

“Defense Against the Dark Arts with the Gryffindors” I answered and she groaned. “Why do you hate her so much?” I asked, referring to the teacher.

“She doesn’t know anything! All she does is talk about the people who know something about defeating evil. We’d be better off with you teaching us”

“I’d sign up for that class” Braxton nodded

“I don’t think I’d be that good” I said as we entered the classroom and took our seats. The Professor came to the front very gleefully which wasn’t odd for her, but this time she seemed especially out of it.

“Alright class, we have a very special guest today. Please give a warm welcome to Harry Potter” The class all clapped excitedly, especially the Gryffindors, as he went to the front of the room. I, on the other hand, was completely freaking out. I don’t know why though, I knew he wouldn’t recognize me.

“Hello, everyone” He started off a bit nervous. “I’m Harry Potter, though, you already knew that…er…I guess the first thing most people ask me is who exactly is Voldemort? Why did he do the things he did?”

I wondered were exactly he was going with this. He had talked about Voldemort plenty of times to Dumbledore’s Army. Was it different now because Voldemort was dead?

“He would have been a normal person, had he been born from a normal family, had his mother married someone who actually cared for her and Voldemort. Unfortunately that didn’t happen” I scoffed at Harry’s words. I was upset that he was talking about my father like he was a nice person. I didn’t understand why he was lying to these people.

Gwen nudged me hard with her elbow to signal for me to shut it. I rolled my eyes as Harry went on with his speech.

“I think people forget that he was once a kid too, just like the rest of us. He just made some bad decisions” I wasn’t sure Harry even knew what he was saying. I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest. Harry turned to me and so did everyone else. “What’s your name?”

“Astoria” I answered as he walked towards me, a bit angrily.

“Tell me, Astoria. Why is it that Voldemort couldn’t love anyone?” He asked looking me straight in the eyes. I glared challengingly.

“Because he was conceived under a love potion” I said

“Exactly” He said firmly, with just a hint of surprise. “He couldn’t love anyone because no one could love his mother” My blood boiled. No one had ever talked about my grandmother before or about her story except for my father. I felt a strange attachment to her.

“So what?” I asked coldly

“So he couldn’t love anyone, not even his own daughter. Do you know what it’s like to have your friend murdered by her father?”

“If it bothers you so much, why didn’t you kill her yourself?” He backed away, shocked.

“Astoria!” The Professor scolded just as class was over. “Your all dismissed. Except for you miss Greengrass. You will stay and apologize to Mr. Potter” Everyone left so Harry and I were alone. I rolled my eyes frustrated.
