“You understand that when I drink this potion I’m not going to look like myself anymore” I said as I leaned up against the bathroom door in my room at the inn. Draco was taking forever, and I’m pretty sure it was spent just on his hair.

“I get that!” He yelled from the other side of the door. “But before you do, I want to take you home!”

“I told you I don’t want to be around Daphne until she’s cooled off, and she’s going to kill me if she finds out we’re engaged”

“I didn’t mean to the Greengrasses!” He yelled. I wasn’t sure why he was talking so loud. The door isn’t that thick.

“What’re you even doing in there?” I asked

“Manly stuff!” I raised an eyebrow amusedly.

“What kind of manly stuff?”

“Manly stuff that men do!” That was all I could take before I opened the door to see Draco using a ton of hair gel to make is hair stick up on end.

I lost it

I was rolling on the floor laughing at him because never in my life did I ever see him look so caught off guard in the most hilarious state because not only was his hair sticking up, he was also using my citrus fruit lotion on his leg. I laughed harder when he tried to put his hair down and wipe the lotion off his hand.

“I was just…it smelt nice…I didn’t” He struggled and I shook my head, calming my laughter a bit.

“It’s ok. Just your hair!” I tried to not to laugh anymore. I got up from the floor

“What about my hair?” He said defiantly though he was still trying to flatten it down

“Nothing. I actually kind of like it sticking up” I shrugged and he immediately stopped trying to flatten it. “So where were you wanting to take me?” I asked as I combed his hair back with my hands to its usual form

“Well, I wanted to take you to the Malfoy Manor” He said a bit hesitantly

“Really, Draco? Are you really going to go around showing me off to everyone?” I sighed

“It’s just for mum…” Just that was enough to make me feel guilty enough to cave in.

“Alright” I said. “But I’m wearing my cloak”

“Fine by me”

I ringed my hands over and over again. How was I supposed to do this? Sure I’ve already told people that I’m alive (more than I wanted) but this was different. Malfoy Manor was my home for all of those summers when Voldemort was away. Narcissa was the mother I never knew. What if she has a heart attack from seeing me? What if Lucius doesn’t want me here?

“It’ll be fine” Draco grabbed my hand, though it didn’t seem like he was so sure that it would actually be fine. I had the same doubt.

He knocked on the door and it wasn’t long before a lanky house elf with a squeaky voice answered the door. He saw Draco and started to shake. I looked at Draco but he didn’t look back. Draco and I never really shared the same opinions on house elves, but this was not a good sign.

“I know what you’re thinking” Draco said as the house elf lead us to the living room. We sat on the sofa and the house elf left.

“Then maybe you’d care to explain” I snapped

“She’s scared of people. Not me” Draco said dryly

“Oh” was all I could say for my embarrassment
