Gretchen's POV

He is back.

Why is he back?

I didn't wished for him to return to be honest.

My shift was about to end.

It was 6:00pm and I heading off to Shakey's for dinner with PenPen.

I texted her.

She replied that she was on her way to Shakey's.

She was working in a company as a supervisor.

I'm very proud of her.

I stood up from my 3 wheeled-chair and wore against my two shoulders my string bag.

"Bye Uncle Tom! See you tomorrow!" I said aloud as I reached the door

"Bye Gretchen! Thank you" He replied from his office

I flipped the sign into CLOSED.

I walked out the door and saw a guy standing in the dark.

He was standing behind a black car.

I took short steps towards him.

My heart beats faster than before.

He stepped nearer to the light of the street lamp post and his face became more visible.

I saw his face.

I gave a confused and pissed look.

"Joe?! It was you? I thought it was maniac or bad guy" I sighed angrily

He chuckled.

"Sorry" He approached me

I rolled my eyes and put a hand on my hips.

"Tsssk, what are you doing here?" I raised an eyebrow

"I was just making sure you get home safe" He blushed shyly as he rubs his back neck

My mood got surpassed by what he said.

I bit my lips together.

He gave a tepid smile and his brown eyes showed.

"I can drive myself home Joe" I looked at him

"But you didn't have dinner yet right?" He asked

"I have a dinner night with Penelope so you don't need to worry about me" I answer as I walked to my car

"But before you leave" He followed me

"What?" I unlocked my car door with my car key

"Can I ask you something?" He said in a soft voice

I stopped in motion as I faced him.

What could he ask about?

"Uhm, sure but my answer depends on your question" I muttered with half anxiety

"Can you keep in touch with me?" He dazes his eyes at me

He has those so called puppy eyes.

But it is filled with pure honesty, it's hard to not get fooled.

"I'm not sure about—" I glanced at him

"Please?" He reaches for my hand and steps closer

I felt a voltage sting instantly.

Which made me wide awake as he held my hand.

"Fine, I'll unblock your number" I groaned

"Really? You will? Thank you!" He said happily
