Silence settled between the two. They had drank their tea quietly while Newt had looked over at his case every few minutes. A high pitched meow was heard before Newt felt a soft pressure against his leg. Newt looked down under the wooden table to see a small grey colored cat rubbing it's small head against the male's leg. "What a interesting cat." Newt had said while he bent over, petting the grey cat with the large ears. (Name) had perked a bit while she looked under the table, smiling once she saw the small creature.
"Ah, yeah. That's Cat." She said, quickly just dismissing the small creature. Newt moved his eyes up to meet the girl's eyes, and he furrowed his brows slightly. "Cat?" He had asked, in a clueless and confused manner. (Name) had nodded before she smiled slightly. She sighed a bit in a dazed like state before she got up and walked over to Newt's chair and crouched down next to the small cat. "I call her Cat simply because she doesn't rely on me, and I don't rely on her. I don't have a right to name her, and she can't name me. Therefor, she is Cat." The girl had said, before her eyes turned up to Newt's blue ones.
Her small speech had somehow made some sense to Newt. He had furrowed his brows for a moment before blinking and smiling only faintly. "I guess that is so." He had said before the small creature had moved over to his suitcase. It hit the case with it's paw a few times before the clasp like lock had popped open and sent the cat jumping back. Newt had jumped out of his seat with it making a loud wood on wood sound, before Newt had closed the case once again.
(Name) stared blankly at Newt. He had hesitantly looked over at her after a few minutes, before he had cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm sorry, I need to get that fixed." He said in a lie, before a wearily smile spread on his face. The girl had narrowed her eyes at him slightly before she sighed, standing up and looking down at her bandages that wrapped her hands. Newt watched her actions before he had snapped his fingers, having (Name) and Cat shoot their heads to him. "Your hands! May I help with the.. you know." He said, gesturing to the blooded bandages that covered her hands.
She had nodded and sighed. "Go ahead. Medical stuff is in the bathroom to the left." She had said with a point to the doorway to the bathroom. With that, Newt had walked to the bathroom leaving the girl standing by the table a bit speechless, to say the least. She was surprised with herself. She had let a stranger in, and she was even ruining her schedule just for him! It wasn't right, and she was going to have a sleepless night because of it. "Here we are." Newt said while he walked in with some rubbing alcohol, needle and thread, towel, and some bandages in hand. It seemed like (Name)'s face had instantly paled at the sight of all the medical devices, and it probably did. The man had instantly noticed her tension and set everything down before he had pulled out a seat for her.
"If I hurt you, just yell. Scream. Just give me a clue." Those blue eyes shot up to her, and she hesitantly nodded. He had poured a bit of the rubbing alcohol onto a small part of the towel and he had bit his lip as if embracing the pain for the girl. He had softly dabbed the injuries a few times, earning a sharp breath and wince from (Name). He instantly moved his hand back and looked at her with wide eyes. "I'm sorry-" He began, but she shook her head and put out her hands again. He gave a few soft wipes to the wounds before he moved onto the needle and thread. He had given her the towel to bite onto and then started on the stitching.
After a nasty ten or so minutes of wincing, Newt apologizing over and over, the man had finally stood up and sighed, looking the girl's hands over. "They're nasty for sure." He said, with a disappointed tone. He wanted to use magic at this point. The scarring and the pain- he didn't want the girl to go through that. But, then again he didn't want her to have to hold the knowledge of wizards only to loose it later on.
"Thank you." (Name)'s voice had brought Newt out of his thoughts. He nodded before he had put his coat around his arm and picked up his case, seeming as if he was ready to leave. The girl's heart rate doubled while she got up out of her chair. "Mr. Scamander?" She had asked, freezing Newt in his place. He looked over at her a bit blankly while she had tried to gather her words. "You can stay here, you know. It's the least I can do for you." She said, while her eyes had fallen to the floor. She couldn't look him in the eyes, as she felt like her utter embarrassment would set the building in flames.
"I would like that very much. But, please. Call me Newt."
