(Name) was hesitant to let Newt stay in her house for even a moment longer in a total and utter fear that the man was one of those infamous and murderous witches. She had handed the man his case and jacket before sitting down in her reading chair. She watched while Newt put on the long coat and shrugged his shoulders a few times to settle the coat into place. (Name) was growing impatient. She cleared her throat loudly. Loud enough that Newt shot his head over to her and blinked a few times. "Right." He said while he pointed in the air before pulling his wand out from his jacket.
Newt walked over to the front door and locked it with the click echoing through the room. (Name)'s heart rate had doubled- no- it had at least tripled. Was he going to kill her? Was he going to do some sort of magic on her? He lifted up his twig looking wand and aimed it straight at the door while his face stayed serious. It was silent for a few moments before Newt had finally yelled out: "Alohomora!"
The door slowly creaked open and the room was filled with an unsettling silence. Suddenly the girl felt like the door was more locked than when it was actually locked. "You are a witch!" She screamed while standing so fast up off her chair that it had toppled over. Newt took a step back with wide eyes while he heard the crash of the wood on wood collision. (Name) had even scared herself, yelping at the sound while whipping around to see the chair, setting her hand over her heart while she breathed heavily.
"(Name)! I'm not a witch!" Newt yelled, holding his wand to the side while he had frowned. (Name) was shaking her head as she started to grab the man's wrist to kick him out. He quickly tugged away and looked around the room as if to think of something else to prove he wasn't a witch. "You're not a witch?! Yet you're casting spells like that?!" She had spat while she continued trying to pull Newt out of her home. His eyes had stopped and then slowly fell to his case. His heart sank while he couldn't even believe what he was about to do.
"Stop! I'm a wizard. Look, okay. I'll prove to you I'm not what you all call a witch." Newt said while looking back to her. His face was solemn while he had slowly crouched down with his hand holding the wand staying in the air as if to show he wouldn't hurt the girl. She took a shaky gulp as if in fear that the male would unleash Pandora's box. He snapped the suitcase open before he had opened his coat, slipping his wand into a small pocket he had for the wand. Newt then moved his head back up to (Name), smiling at her warmly before he had stepped into the case.
First one step,
Then he jumped over one,
And, he was out of sight.
"Newt?" (Name) asked in a whisper with an obvious stutter. You can imagine the shock and fear. How could a man disappear into thin air? She slowly walked around the suitcase slowly, looking it over cautiously as if the thing could jump up and instantly devour her. Newt stood at the base of the stairs for a few moments, waiting for the girl eagerly. But, after minutes had passed and she had not descended into his case he had climbed just high enough to peek his head and arms out.
"You coming?" He piped in his soft British accent with (Name) instantaneously jumping back with a yelp. She leant against the windowsill and stared at Newt's head and partial bust sticking out from the suitcase from wide eyes. "What...is that?" She asked, before taking yet another nervous and anxious gulp. Newt had groaned before he hung his head, shaking it for a moment. He could not help to slightly smile, though. "You ask too many questions, now do you trust me?" Newt asked as he lifted his head, along with his large arm.
With a charming smile and his long arm descended in the air, it almost made (Name) think of him as that odd handsome man she simply knew from the streets. Slowly and hesitantly, she let herself leave the window's side. She walked over to him, and he took her hand. As he slowly stepped down, (Name) followed in an equally fast pace. "Careful now, watch your step." Newt said softly while she had stepped onto the ground.
The two had entered into a small tropical looking office room with books and creatures everywhere! Not to mention, the papers scattered along the floor like confetti. At first, she did not have a single clue on what to think. Newt must have been able to see that, because he had lead her to the door, never letting go of her hand now that he had the chance to hold onto it. Newt looked over his shoulder to see the girl's face. Eagerness and a smile were upon her face, and he instantly knew she was ready.
I don't think that she was ready for everything she was to learn.
