Azure~
That's odd. It probably has to do with some work stuff that my boss put there. I'd go and double check with him tomorrow just in case. I gazed past the code and slowly filling out my details on the form. Name, birth, home phone, address, emergency contacts, P.O box, experience with journalism, degree and copy of birth certificate.
Once I was done filling out the form, I put the pen back in its place and went upstairs to go to bed. I fell asleep in an instant.
I remember his blue eyes, brighter than the crystal light, his luscious blonde hair, shinier than the sun so bright. Glimpses of him pop in and out, visions of him stir in my mind.
I suddenly jolt up, breathing hard. Who is he? I shrugged the thought away, cringing at my imagination in the dream, and what happened in the dream. Don't we only dream of people we know?
I slowly tilted my head back and laid down on my bed. I slowly sank back into my peaceful sleep, hoping not to be awoken by any other stupid dream.
As I slept, it happened again, but this time, I see him, lying on the forest canopy and there is a code on his neck, a very familiar code.
My eyes suddenly jolt from their sleep, and I am breathing hard again. Not being able to go back to sleep, I get out of bed and enter the bathroom. I wash my face in the sink and slowly get change to meet with my boss about the code that was on the form.
The code may be something an everyday person will look at and forget, but the code, it just catches my eye.
Once I finished getting change, I walk downstairs and had a small snack and got into the car. I drove the one hour drive all the way down to the Daily News and parked my car.
I walked inside, this time careful not to hit my head again, and walked tot he receptionists.
"Hi, it's me Azure? I don't know if you remember me, but I was here yesterday for my job interview" The lady looks at me, and grins at me.
"Oh yes, of course, I remember you" I smile back at her, thankful that she remembers me.
"So, what can I do for you?" Uhm, what can she do for me? If I show her I'm here for the code, she will think I'm stupid because it's just a code right?
I tell her the truth anyways "Uhm, I'm here to show my boss the code that I found on the form, I find it curious that's all" She looks at me, curious
"OK then, can I please have a look?" I put my hand in my bag and feel around for the form. Once I finally had a grip, I pulled it out and opened it and gave it to her.
Michelle, the receptionist, looks at my face, examining it. "What code? There is no code" I looked at her as if she was stupid. The code was pretty big on the page.
"Yea, there is a code, it's right there" I point my finger on the paper and show her where directly the code was.
"Nope sorry hun, still see nothing" I tilt my head to the side, confused.
"But the code is written in the biggest font in the form on the background. How can you not see it?" Michelle looks at me as if I was crazy
"I said, sorry hun there is no code, you should get glasses" I stood there shocked, not expecting her to say that. To say the least, I was offended.
Just as I was about to turn around and sit down, I heard my name being called.
"Azure! Azure!" My head jolts up and I see my boss calling my name. I start to walk in the direction of his voice.
