Azure~
Images stir in my mind. My eyes slowly open and wince as a gush of pain sweeps through my head. Lights blur my vision and my eyes are closed again.
I feel a warmth around my hand and see that Steven is sitting beside me with my hand holding his on his lap. My eyes are fully alert now and when Steven finally realises that my eyes were open, he pulls his hands away from mine and looks away.
His cheeks go slightly red and I grin for no reason. "Urgh, it's cold in here and- umm- your hands were pretty cold so I thought I should warm them up?" He makes the expression as like he wanted to wince at me.
I lift one eyebrow up and stare at him. A giggle comes out of my mouth which, sooner or later, turned into a laugh that, which most likely, everyone outside could hear.
I smirk at him "Let's play a game, shall we? Every time I think your lying, I'm going to say 'naked truth' and you are going-" I raise my voice a tiny louder to try and threaten him "-to TELL ME THE NAKED TRUTH"
Steven's head is slowly moving back as my voice raises louder "DEAL?!" His eyes were a mixture of shock and confusion "Um, yeah, deal"
I let out a deep breath and lean my back against the pillow. I reach over to the bedside table and grab the tv remote. I press the green button, turning it on.
The daily news pops up and I turn the volume up to hear better. "There have been many documentaries on mysterious people -believe it or not- falling from the sky. We have been having these incidents for the past week now and scientist have been figuring out a solution to what this may be"
I lift one eyebrow and wince to what I was hearing and I look over to Steven, who has a frightened face on. I laugh "What has happened to our world"
Another lady on appears on tv as the witness, it was a loud and noisy background but I still caught up with what she was saying "I was walking on the forest path as I usually do each morning with my dog and one day I was walking along and I see something mysterious in the sky, I thought it was a plane for a second. But before I knew it the thing in the sky was falling slowly down towards us and my dog started barking and I started to panic
"I cautiously started walking back from where I came from and as I was walking back I hear a loud thump and turn around to find someone lying on the footpath. I carefully walked up to the person and the only thing that caught my attention was something written on his neck. Something on the lines of, umm, I think it was 56A, umm-" The lady looks down to the floor in concentration
"Right! It was-" The television suddenly blacked out and I look over to Steven to find him holding the remote aimed up at the TV.
His lips were pursed with shocked written all over his face. My face falls into confusion at his revealing state. I had a sense that he knew something
I turned my full body to face him "Naked Truth?" His eyes widen. Steven opens his mouth for a few seconds but nothing came out. Silence filled the room.
"Uhm, what naked truth? There is no naked truth?" He looks at me as if I'm crazy. "But that doesn't explain why you turned off the tv so suddenly?"
He pursed his lips "It was, uhm, cold in here?" He folds his hands over his chests and acts as if it is cold in the hospital room.
I smirked at him "Uh, ok then. But that still doesn't explain why you turned the tv off so suddenly" I knew that I was pushing Steven to his limits, but deep down I had a feeling that he knew something about the mysterious documents.
His face goes shocked once more "I- um- that was- um- because- I- um-" There was a small gust of wind and I look over to see a nurse walking towards me.
"Azure, the doctor just informed me that you are free to go, but you have to make sure that you drink plenty of water to avoid any migraines" She smiles at me and I gently grin back at her.
I slowly push myself to the edge of the bed and use all my strength to pull myself to my feet. I walk over to the spare chair across the room and fetch my clothes. I pick up my pile of clothes and walk back to the bed
I look at Steven and then towards the door indicating that he needs to get out so I can change, he buries his eyebrows in confusion and I raise one eyebrow. For the owner of a company, he isn't so smart.
I burst into a laugh "You need to get out idiot" His mouth goes into a big 'o' and I continue to laugh even more "Oh-o-oh" He playfully grins at me whilst walking towards the door.
As soon as he closes the door I feel another gush of pain through my head and suddenly fall to the floor. I grab the edge of the bed for support but it doesn't do any help. My eyes are closed shut and as the pain in my head gets worse I open my mouth to scream for help when all of a sudden the pain in my head disappears and I am back to normal again.
My eyes open and I find my vision blurry. I close my once more to focus my vision and open my eyes and it has focused again. But the only thing that has caught my attention is something glowing on the floor on the other side of the hospital bed.
I stand up and cautiously walk to the other side of the bed and stop midway. "What- that was not there before" I close my eyes for a few seconds and open them again, disappointed that this wasn't another one of my stupid dreams.
I stare at it for what seemed like forever until I hear the door open and Steven talking
"Hey, Azure are you finished because I just-" He walks into the room and comes to a halt to see what I see.
"Azure what happened?" My mouth is still in a big 'o' when he talks. "Steven, what- what is this?" He looks at me, his eyes filled with fear and astonishment.
I look back at the mysterious thing on the floor and read it aloud "56A5EC" Steven continues on "The code the lady said on tv"
My eyes attract to Steven once more and I look at the code again. What- what is happening to me? There has to be an explanation to this code- to all of it
The nurse suddenly appears in the room and comes to halt when he sees us looking down at the floor.
Her face falls into confusion and she looks at me then trails her eyes to Steven. "What are you guys looking at?"
My head goes to the side and I turn my body to face her. "Can't you see the huge code on the floor?" The nurse looks at the floor then back at me. She looks at me as if I was Alice in Wonderland
She sneers at me and scoffs "Darling, there is nothing there. I think you she get glasses" She pulls a face of disgust and walks out the room, slamming the door.
What is that woman's problem?
But that thought went to the back of my head. The only question that was running through my head was
Why couldn't she see it?
