My face was in a frown and I was rushing down the road at full speed, driven by madness and confusion. My brain took over itself and before I knew it, I was taking twists and turns to nowhere. Everything kept replaying in my head that happened in the office. But the thing that really got to me was Aaron and Luke. How would they just fall out of the sky from nowhere? Thinking about it, I really think this is some alien joke.
All of a sudden we come to a halt and I look over at Luke to see him crying from my confusion and mad driving. Tears were rolling down his cheek and I started panic. I've never done this before! I opened my side of the door to suddenly realise that I have driven myself to the forest but how? It felt like someone was taking over my brain. Must be a real bad day for me.
I come back to realisation and run to Luke's side. I open his door to find him hugging his knees and crying. Out of instinct, I comforted "It's ok, shhh. Everything is going to be alright" I bend my knees onto the and squat down and face him. "It's ok alright?" He slightly nods.
Luke stops crying almost immediately and looks up and randomly hugs me, it just felt so natural. He starts talking, like what just happened never happened at all. "You were a great role model to me. You were a great role model to everyone" Great role model? More like Great Rubbish. "Everything was fine when one day he made a plan, a plan that destroyed almost everything. People died, people starved to death. It just all changed so quickly"
Luke started to cry once more, he hugged me tighter and I pulled him closer to me as he cried harder. I had no idea what he was on about but still comforted him anyways "Ok? But still, Luke. Everything will be ok, alright? I promise you that nothing will harm you, ok?" He looks at me, sadness filling his eyes. "What if he comes back?" Who is he? I still had no idea what he was talking about. "What?!" He shakes head. Out of nowhere he gets out of his seat and takes my hand. He pulls me towards the forest and I follow him as he takes me deeper into the forest.
"W-where are we going?" He didn't need to answer because the puzzle pieces were slowly coming together. We were going to the place where I saw Luke, where he fell from the sky. I frown in agitation. "Why are we here?" Luke looks at me but continues running "To meet Aaron of course" For the first time, he smiles at me. But wasn't he just at the office? I'm so confused.
We finally make it the spot where I found Luke to see Aaron sitting on a broken tree stump. I freeze into place when I remember what happened the night when I first met him. He kissed me and called me Maeve. "You" I simply say. He looks at me and smiles "Yes, me" Luke suddenly takes my hand and drags me to him. "Azure, meet Aaron" I finally realise his feature more closely.
The blonde hair, blue eyes and that's when I realise Luke has the same features as Aaron. My eyes widen and I turn to look at Luke. "That's your Dad?!" He simply nods at me "How come you both-um how do I put it so it doesn't sound like I'm a psychopath? How did you uh, fall from an aeroplane?" I throw a fishy smile at Aaron, having no idea what was coming out of my mouth.
He raises an eyebrow and frowns at me "You mean how did we fall from the sky?" I nod at him, my cheeks growing redder by the second "Well, that is why we brought you here, to tell the truth" My mouth is open, ready to reply when I stood frozen there. Finally coming to my common sense, I take seat opposite from him, on a tree stump. I close my eyes and breathe out heavily, waiting for what I was about to hear.
I nod at Aaron, finally ready to hear the truth "Firstly, we didn't fall from an aeroplane or the sky" I furrow my eyebrows together and look up at the sky, clearly confused. "But- but how?" He straightens his back "Don't freak but we are half hybrids. Human and alien. There is a whole new world out there, Europium is a place for those who don't fit in, like us. Have you been having dreams about something random?" I gradually nod at him "Well, they are from your past life, not really past life, but memories of when you were on Europium"
I had a small panic attack "Wait, you mean I lived there! What the hell, I'm alien!" I look down at myself to see my human form still there "But I'm human, I'm not an alien, that can't be! You have mistaken me for someone else" His eyes bore into mine. "I know my Maeve from anywhere" He gently laughs "Maeve, you've called me that before, in my dreams and-and" Realisation dawns me. My face goes pale as a ghost and my voice quietens "-my husband" I slightly blush but try not to make it a big deal. "Wait, that means-" I point to Luke "-he's my son?" He smiles.
"We have ranks in Europium. They go by colour. Red being the most powerful than black, brown, green, yellow and blue being the impoverished" A small smile appears on my face, "it all makes sense now, why I have been seeing these codes everywhere, there ranks!" My face goes in a frown again "But that doesn't explain why I actually have been seeing them everywhere" I suddenly realise that the code on hi neck was the colour of blue, the impoverished, so was Luke's one, blue. Unanticipatedly I saw something blue glow at the corner of my eye.
My eyes enlarged and I stare at Aaron. "What was that?" He stands up and walks closer to me and bends down crouches down in front of me and he bends down towards my face, inches away from contact. His eyes flicker down to my lips but then to my eyes as soon as I caught him. He leans in closer to me, but instead of making contact on my lips his eyes flicker to my neck where he pulled down my jacket and revealed a code "#F0FFFF" I turn my head to face him.
"What?" He takes a seat back at the tree stump opposite me "Azure, #F0FFFF" As soon as he said that I took my phone and turned on the camera and put it on selfie mode. I look down at my neck and freeze into place. "I have a code on my neck" He is still rubbing his chin in concentration "It is only revealed when the truth is" Then suddenly Steven comes into mind.
"What about Steven?" All of a sudden his face goes pale "He's the leader of Europium, he caused all this"
