Garroth ran straight for the front door, but right as he was about to put his hand on the knob, the door swung open, revealing Laurence in his Shadow Knight form, blood on his face and on his teeth. In his left hand he held a dead chicken and his right hand was also covered in blood.

Garroth squeaked and fell back, hitting the floor with a thump. "You good?" Laurence asked, using his tongue to clean the blood off of his teeth. Garroth gave a shaky nod and scrambled to his feet. "M'kay.." Laurence said, walking past Garroth. "I-Is that a dead chicken?" Garroth asked. Laurence changed back to normal. "Yup." He replied. "Why?" Garroth asked again. "Ummm.. So you won't starve? Duh, basic human needs.." Laurence said.

"Um.. I don't mean to offend you but what do you know of basic human needs?" Garroth asked. "You really are stupid, aren't you.." Laurence said, shaking his head. "What?" Garroth asked. "Obviously you don't know that Shadow Knight's aren't born... They're made. Every Shadow Knight was once a human who has died and was granted the blessing of The Shadow Lord." Laurence said. "You mean to tell me you died?" Garroth asked. "Yeah, was I was ten, some Shadow Knights brought me to the nether ad transformed me when I came of age... But I still have some humanity left in me." Laurence explained. "Really?" Garroth asked, getting on his feet. "Yeah, so I do have basic human needs.. So I do understand them.." Laurence said, putting the dead chicken on the furnace he had. "Well, let's do this.." He mumbled, pulling out his sword.

After a, semi good meal, Laurence had insisted that Garroth get some sleep. Garroth wasn't sure if he should, he was still slightly nervous about this whole ordeal.

The light from the setting sun shown through the window, making the entire room glow. Garroth sat on the edge of the bed, looking out of the window at the forest. Laurence had to slip out somewhere but it wasn't long before he came running back in the cottage.

He was breathing heavily and his eyes were flashing red every few seconds. Small red cracks started to form under his eyes and Laurence looked panicked and scared. "What's wrong?" Garroth asked. Laurence spoke, his voice incredibly distorted. "It's happening.." He said. "What is?" Garroth asked. Laurence only shook his head and went over to the rug, ripping it off revealing the trap door. He opened it and looked straight at Garroth. "No matter what.. Do NOT open the door until morning." He growled before jumping down, closing and locking the trap door
