Trigger warning? Idk personally I felt this became a little dark so I just want to warn you guys

When Dan woke up Monday morning he screamed. He was terrified and he couldn't explain why. It felt like paranoia, but it was so much more. He couldn't help himself from curling into a ball and clutching his head. He heard screaming, but it was a voice that wasn't just his own. He felt like all of the organs inside of him was screaming. Begging to be let out of the home which they had lived for seventeen years.

His mother immediately ran to his room and yelled to asked what was wrong, but he couldn't hear her over his own voice and the voice inside him. All he heard was screaming. His mother tried shaking him into reality but he slapped her arms away and moved all the way up his bed until he was against the headboard of his bed. His mother moved with him and pulled her son into her arms to try and calm him down.

"Mummy? Why is Dan screaming?" His sister Marita waddled into the room with here eyes red from sleep.

"Honey go downstairs, mummy and Danny will be down soon. Your brother just saw a horror movie last night and it's scaring him senseless. It'll be over soon. Try and sleep on the couch." Dan's mum orders. Marita nods and slumps down the hallway to the stairs.

"Dan, baby, calm down mum's here. Calm down. Shh, shh." His mother holds his head against her chest and her son's screams slowly subsides.

"M-mum?" Dan squeaks, his arms wrapping around his mum and he hugs her tightly out of fear.

"Yes baby I'm here, I'm here."

"I-I don't know what happened I just-"

"Shh, shh." His mother shushes him. "Its okay baby. Do you want me to call your doctor? Or do you want to stay home today?"

"N-No I'm fine, it's was probably just a nightmare I can't remember." Dan shakes his head.

"Alright Dan, you might want to explain that to Marita because your screaming woke her up. If anything happens at school just go to the nurse and tell her to call me. I'll pick you up, alright hun?" Dan nods his head. "Good." His mother plants a small kiss to his forehead before releasing her son from her arms and leaving him to have some privacy.

Dan swings his legs over the side of his bed and shakes his head once again. He lied to his mum, he doesn't feel fine. He feels like a freak. Who the hell wakes up and just starts screaming? Why was he even screaming? He can still feel the after affects inside of himself, his body feels icky and his organs feel like they were just shaken as if they were being mixed together. But he doesn't know why, and that's what scares him. He doesn't know what's wrong with himself.

He played his favorite songs in his head as he got dressed that day, but they felt different. Like a broken record. Lines would repeat themselves. Lines that wouldn't have seemed to be meaningful until you hear them again, and again, and again.  The words that have meaning to the ones to the ones who really listen. The ones who need it the most. The ones who have nothing else. The ones who feel the words and live them everyday. The words that make you forget.

Haven't you taken enough from me?

Won't you torture someone else's sleep?

Won't you go to someone else's dreams?

However Dan couldn't forget. Nothing can be forgotten unless it is so painful your whole body shuts it out for you. According to his body the restless, heartbroken nights in the hospital isn't enough to be forgotten.

Won't you go to someone else's head?

Haven't you taken enough from me?

Won't you torture someone else's sleep?
