*Caseys POV*
I rush down the winding hallways, trying to get to Jerry's spanish class before the late bell rings. He's right outside the classroom when I get there, talking and laughing with his friends.
"Here Jerry, you left your bag at lunch," I say as I near him, trying to act as if I didnt care about his hostility from before.
"Yeah, thanks babe." We kiss, and his buddies laugh. He takes his bag.
"Why dont you like the new girl?" I saw how hostile you were acting," I blurt, unable to stop myself."The newbie? She's... not cool, baby."
"What do you mean?" He grabs my arm and pulls me away from he gathering crowd at the classroom door."She moved from Parliament County, right? Well, my cousin lives there. About a month ago, he said there was ah, an incident with a student and teacher. In his school."
"What kind of incident?" I ask, sensing what was coming.
"A sexual one.""Like, rape?"
"No, the girl wanted it, my cousin heard. I'm not sure what her name was, but I doubt her mother would stay in the area with all of that media attention. I think Alyssa is that girl, babe."
"Oh God! Really?" Weird. I can't really take him seriously though. Not enough evidence I guess.
"Yeah, and I notice shes trying to be friends with you, so just be careful."
"I roll my eyes. "Ally is not a predator Jer. For God's sake, how could you say something like that! She's new, and just wanted to find someone to help her through her first day!""I know... but--"
"No. I'll see you later." I stand on my tiptoes and wrap my arms around his shoulders burying my face in his neck. I love him, but sometimes... we are just so different.
"I get to class just as the final bell rings. Mr. Slovak glares at me as I come in. I spot Ally in the far corner of the room. Her green eyes pierce mine as I look for a place to sit. I sigh and join her in the back, setting my bag on the floor next to my desk.
A few minutes into Mr.Slovaks lesson, I get a note on my desk.
hey, what are you doing after school?-A
I think of telling her I'm busy, but then I remember my earlier conversation with Jerry. Shes new, and nervous. Why shouldnt I take an hour or two to hang out with her?
I turn the small piece of paper over and write,
No, I'm free for a while. U wanna hang? That homework seems kinda scary...-C
I pass it to her discreetly. She looks at the paper and nods. I smile to myself. I kind of wanted to hang with her too.

*Alyssa's POV*
After Algebra (very long and grueling, I might add) I pack up my things and wait for Casey in the hall. I cant wait to be with her outside of school. She's beautiful, and I know she has feelings for me.
"Hey," I say as she comes out. She sees me and flashes that gorgeous smile.
"Really glad we could hang today. I have soccer later though, so only for a bit," she says, and we start down the hall. She sounds way different than before. Bubblier, happier. And I like her even more.
"Okay cool." Our homeroom has study hall now, so thats where we're going.
"Look... I want to apologize for Jerry. I asked him why he was upset, and it was just over a rumor he heard." I freeze. Shit.
"Well, what'd he hear?" I ask, trying to act nonchalant.
"Nothing. You know, sometimes he can be a doofus. You said you had a brother?""Yeah. His name is Benny. He's 13."
"Oh. Cool," Casey says. I glance at her, and see she is troubled. What did Jerry tell her?
