Because I was homeschooled all my life I never was really all that social. My only friend I had was when I was little was a younger girl named Taylor, even though I'm pretty sure she was forced to play with me. I've never really gotten friends, never really had the desire to, I guess I'm just a loner. Plus having to explain my parents death over and over, explain why I'm with my aunt, why I was homeschooled. It was just to much, I'd much rather keep my distance from people.

Brrring

The high pitched bell snapped me out of my thoughts as I walked into the tall building. Students that were scattered on the stairs and along lockers and walls started to move to their lockers to grab their things. I just stood in front of the doors like an idiot watching everything, not knowing what to do.

"Excuse me sir?" I heard a high voice call out

"Me?" I asked turning to the right to face an elderly woman. She had glasses on a necklace around her neck and her grey hair up in a bun. She was short and plump and I'm assuming the receptionist.

"Well yes, are you the new student, Kellin Quinn Bostwick?"

"I prefer just Kellin Quinn but yes." I replied, thinking of how many other people I might have to correct,

"I'll take note of that, you might want to inform other teachers, we like to use last names around here and I presume they will use Bostwick. Now please, follow me." She said before spinning around and leading me into the main office.

After gathering all the information I needed and getting my papers I would need, I found my locker. Not long after I had everything but my English binder stored away I headed off to my class.

"So would you please open up to-" the teacher stopped his instruction when he noticed me at the door "Excuse me," He said coldly "Can I help you?"

"I'm, uh, Kellin Quinn." I mumbled barely over a whisper

"Speak up." He snapped

"Kellin Quinn, I'm, um Kellin." I said a bit louder this time.

"Mr. Bostwick, hurry and take your seat, being new is no excuse." He said pointing to the back row of seats, you're by Mr.Fuentes."

The tanned guy in the back gave a short wave and nodded to the seat on the right of him.

"Oh and sir," I said grabbing his attention "It's, um, it's not Bostiwick I pre-"

"Well is your last name not Bostwick?" He said more like it was a statement not a question,

"Well, um yes but I'd pre-" I sighed as he interrupted me once again,

"Then I shall address you as Mr.Bostwick and that is that."

I sighed and with that nodded my head and found my seat beside Mr.Fuentes

He nodded before continuing his instructions from before "Page 82 everyone, 82."

"Psst," The Fuentes guy whispered "You can borrow my book if you want, I've already read it all." He gave a friendly smile

"Oh, okay." I whispered barely audible,

He handed me his book, Shakespeare, before quickly whispering "I'm Vic by the way."

I nodded "Kellin." I whispered back

"Cute," he muttered before turning back.
