The next two weeks were pure bliss, I had forgotten all worries I ever had and just focused on me and Vic. It was amazing, he made me so happy. We had visited the trail every once in a while and his dad hadn't even drank any alcohol for four or five weeks so far. He said he was really getting better and he had never been sober for this long before which made me even happier. But I hadn't expected him to ask me what he did that Friday after school.

We were on the couch and he was facing the tv but I was laying down, my head on his lap and had my feet on the hand rest on the other side of the couch.

"So Kells," he said nervously as he played with my hair, "My dads getting better, a lot better, and um, I had a question."

"Okay shoot." I mumbled as I shut off my phone and craned my neck to look up at him.

"Well um, and you totally don't have to or whatever, it's uh, totally just a question I won't care at all if you don't want to or whatever. Like after all the stories you heard about him-" he rambled, avoiding eye contact at all costs.

"Vic," I chuckled, "Just, ask me your question, okay?" I sat up properly and looked him in the eyes as I took his hand into my own, comfortingly stroking his hand with my thumb.

He looked down at his lap and took a deep breath. "I was just wondering if you want to have dinner at my dads with us tomorrow?" He asked quickly.

"Sure." I grinned, he was actually asking me to come to the one place he'd never let, or want, anyone to go. The place he didn't even like to be sometime, he wanted me to go, and meet his dad.

"Really?" His eyes sparkled,

I nodded and laughed, "Does that mean he knows about?" I pointed in between us. That means I could tell Vic about the texts and his dad wouldn't care if he got the picture. I mean, he probably wouldn't like seeing his son naked cuddling with another guy in a pond but still.

He frowned and looked down at his lap, "um, I'm sorry Kellin." He mumbled. He looked at me with tears in his eyes, "I can't risk setting him off."

"Oh, okay okay. Um, yeah, that's, uh, understandable." I put my hand on his shoulder and rubbed his back. "You don't have to be upset okay I get it."

He nodded slowly and my phone buzzed, "You get that, I'm gonna go to the bathroom."

The Unknown Number, I rolled my eyes but decided to check the message anyway.

Jelly Belly Kelly, guess what? Dinner with dad, sounds great! We're going to have so much fun...Well I'm going to have fun playing with you at least

I sighed and rolled my eyes again. I decided not to take him seriously, he was just some rude trickster. Right? Right.

"Sorry Kells." Vic mumbled as he sat beside me once again.

"For what?" I asked puzzled, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Overreacting, I want to tell him as much as ou want me too. But it's not like I have any other dad. He could snap at any second and who knows what he'd do." He sniffled,

"No, Vic," I sighed, running my hand through my hair, "I just want you to be comfortable alright? It's fine just as long as you're okay. And your dads getting better, that's the important thing."

He smiled back at me and pulled me onto his lap so I was straddling him. "I love you." He breathed. I could feel his warm breath on my lips and he brushed his against mine.
