By the time lunch rolled around I hadn't really talked to anyone but teachers and Vic and I didn't want to make him feel like he had to invite me to sit with him so I slipped off and decided to just walk home for lunch. But then I ran into the receptionist again.
"Oh, excuse me Mr.Bo- ahem, Mr.Quinn, you need to sign out." She said before waving me into her office "Oh, and it's a 45 minute break alrighty?"
I nodded and quickly signed my name. "Don't forget to sign back in when you come." She smiled.
The walk back home was uneventful but the second I got in the door my aunt was bombarding me with questions. "Kellin! How was it? Wait, why are you here?." she raised an eyebrow and gasped "Are you skipping?! On your first day! Oh honey do you not feel good?"
"Auntie!" I shouted "I'm just home for lunch." I sighed
"Well, why didn't you stay and hang out with friends or something?" She spoke ever so softly,
"What friends." I laughed as if it was funny before going to the kitchen and making a BLT.
"You didn't meet anyone you wanted to have lunch with?" She asked as she entered the small kitchen and taking a seat at the breakfast bar that I was using.
"Well, I met a guy, but I didn't want him to think he had to sit with me, especially after I hung out with him like all day already."
Her eyes widened "Was he cute?" I just kinda stared at her my mouth slightly agape "Geez Kellin!" She sighed "I meant for you! Duh. But was he nice?"
"Oh," I laughed "Yeah, he was pretty hot, he was tan, and he was pretty buff, plus he has gorgeous brown eyes and longish brown hair." She nodded along as I explained "But I don't think he was gay. But we got partnered together for a project." I said winking
"Ooh," she squealed "That means he's got to come over at some point, oh!" She gasped "I get to meet him, yay! Invite him over on Friday, after school and I'll make him stay for supper!"
I decided not to tell her about the misunderstood calling me hot things and the book thing, or the maybe calling me cute thing. "Okay, maybe. But you have to promise not to be weird. Oh and by the way, he called me Kells."
Her face kinda fell "Oh, did you tell him you don't like nicknames?"
"Well, that's the thing, I actually kinda really liked it. Like maybe even a little too much.." I said blushing
"Oh, my, God. Kellin Quinn!" She squealed "I have to meet him omg."
I laughed harder, and glanced at the clock. "Have to go." I said stuffing the rest of my sandwich in my mouth and pecking her forehead.
