Hi readers! This is my first poem in this book. Hope you like it!  Comment if you have any questions or ideas. I'm always looking forward to improve my writing.

Going miles and miles in the endless woods

Running from the figures in the hoods

My best friend with me through this all

Tearing through thick trees till nightfall.

Past the river we went

Across the blue tent

While the wind howled in the distance

We continued with determined persistence.

Dashing through trees and down the slope

As fast as our legs could bear

Thinking the figures could not cope,

We stopped without a care.

Oh how we were wrong,

As they came scurrying

We didn't have long,

As they came hurrying.

Out of breath,

I could feel the chilling forest walk with death...

The blue sky, a patchwork quilt

Turned dark blood red.

I stared past the horizon ahead

And saw two damaged towers with a tilt.

Slowly, my vision blurred

This was getting absurd

I was afraid this would be the end,

At least I was with my best friend.
