Past the stormy seas and violent rain,
But in my mind you appear clear as day,
I'm unable to let go despite the pain.
I still see your warm brown eyes and tender smile,
When you asked if I wanted to stay for awhile,
The soft touch of your arms wrapped around me,
As we swayed to the movements of the birch tree.
I love you so much,
It pains me to see you with someone new,
Why wasn't I good enough for you?
Why couldn't I have been the one you choose?

Words aren't enough,
To describe all the ways you make me feel,
How I float when I'm around you.
I hate you so much
For leaving me behind
Without a warning sign
Like I was nothing to you
But then again maybe I was...
Maybe everything I assumed
was misconstrued.
