Three dates. One Party.
That's as long as I've ever been with a boy. I go on three dates and then I throw a party. What goes on at the party is completely up to the guy, which is really odd if you knew me. I'm a very "up-tight," "in-control" type of person. And for me to just throw that control at some guy, is undead of. Unless if it's after the third date and we're at the party, then that means I'm breaking up with you. The party is to prove that I'm not a heartless bitch. Which, I totally am. It's just better this way. This way, no guys get too attached and I don't get my heart broken. Also, I get mega popularity points.
My stomach starts to wail: it's hungry, not me. I grab my princess cup and swallow some purified zero-calorie water. I'm on a liquid diet of just water. I look around the table, my four best friends all have similar cups with the same water filled inside. I grin like the Cheshire cat.
"'Kay girls, what do we have so far?" I asked meeting each of their eyes. My parties were always a big bash. Every new one topped the last one, I made sure of it.
"I was thinking we should make it a pool party! But like, you have a character theme." Chloe exclaimed, she wasn't the brightest of the five of us, but she was hot so we kept her around. That, and her dad practically owned every mall in the northwest.
"Like what?" I challenged. It was my job, to break the ideas down and see if they still stood. This party had to be good, I would be breaking up with Daniel M. I had been on three dates with Mr. M (no one could really pronounce his last name so everyone called him Daniel M when referring to him) and those three dates had occurred over two months. Of course he had broken the rules and technically we had went on six or seven dates. He thought because he was the it-boy he could get away with it. I hadn't told him he could.
"Like... um like life guards and hot babes!" I turned my temper off and looked at the next girl.
"Rachel?" I looked at the brunette with dark eyes. If anyone would threaten to take my place, it would be Rachel. She put her pencil down and started reading from her paper.
"I was thinking of club-theme. Everything is dark, black everything except flashing lights everywhere and the hottest band!" The thing about Rachel is she was always so close to the best idea, but it always came across a little cheap to me. I saw the other girls were in awe of her vision.
"What about a mix-tape instead of a band. Bands are so overrated. Plus, what is the difference between a club theme and just another party?" I met her dark eyes and shrugged at her. "Next."

After two more hours of this we finally decided on a theme: Paris & Romance. The idea was adapted from Beth's Masquerade theme (sounded too prom-like) and Chris' idea about Kissing. Beth and Chris were my closest girl-friends.
"Your party is going to be THE best!" Beth grabbed me in a hug. Chris nodded in agreement.
"Now for my dress!" I went to my closet and looked for something Paris-ey.
"So when is the party?" Chris asked trying on a solid colored long sleeve purple Dior dress.
"I'm thinking tomorrow night. Chris you should really borrow that." Her black waves of hair made the dress look ten times better than my red curls did. Strawberry blonde really, but lately my hair had been turning redder and redder.
"Really? Why so soon? Don't you think maybe you should continue to date Daniel? He's a really nice guy."
"Yeah, but I don't break the rules. I just make them." I flipped my hair and looked in the mirror.
I settled on a GUESS floral print textured dress that stopped mid-thigh. It would get the job done.
Tomorrow night I'd be single again.
Daniel M. would be on the market again.
