Purple. That's what was visible in the darkness of Katie's room in the late hours of the night. The purple looking hair that fell from a face she could not see. A sharp pain went pulsing through her body starting with her right palm. The figure looked at her noticing her being awake and whispered something. Katie could not hear the words spoken, but her eyes drooped shut and she fell into a sleep. Thinking it was all a dream. When Katie’s green eyes opened though she felt sticky. She looked at her white blanket and froze. Red. Her eyes went to her aching hand and she all she saw was red. Blood. She got up and raced into the bathroom stumbling and flicking the lights on. Turning the water on Katie stuck her hand under the cold water. She watched the water turn from clear to red as the dried blood washed away. When the water went back to clear she shut the tap off. Carefully drying her hand Katie looked at her palm. What she saw scared her out of her mind. A circular mark had been carved into her palm. Katie ran out of the bathroom not bothering turning the light off.

"Mom! Dad! Someone cut me!" She yelled running to where her parents were sitting drinking coffee. Like they did every morning.

"Katie, dear calm down." Her mom said putting her cup of coffee down as she looked at her panic filled daughter.

"No mom someone broke in and cut me! I can't calm down." Katie said showing her mom and dad the mark. Katie walked over to the phone and froze. Right in front of her stood a girl she had never seen. A girl with purple hair. "You! You did this!"Katie yelled pointing to the girl her finger shaking.

"Calm down I wasn't trying to hurt you. And pointing is rude." The girl said her voice was deeper than Katie's high pitched tone with an accent.

"Mom Dad! Call the cops! She's crazy!" Katie yelled backing away from the girl. Looking from her parents back to the girl, who was as calm as could be.

"Katie. Sit down dear. I have to tell you something. That I should've told you a while ago." Her mom said leading her to the couch holding her hand on her shoulder blade. "Katie, my mother and father, your grandparents they were a type of person that could see demons and creators. They got took to an academy when they were sixteen where they would be with their own kind. They trained to be fighters to protect the innocent. They met there and fell in love. Now Katie these people they have a mark to show who is one. The mark this girl carved into your palm. I wish this wasn't happening but you have been marked. You must go to this academy and train. Be with your people. Or the demons will find you and you could die. I love you but you need to go." Her mom said her hand on Katie's. Katie looked at her mom horrified.

"Dad you aren't buying this madness are you?" She asked looking at her dad for a bit of sanity.

"Katie princess, I love you but this is true you have to go for your own good." Her father said hanging his head. Katie looked at the stranger who was leaning agents a wall.

"Who are you?" Katie asked through her teeth looking at the girl.

"Sam. And I'm sorry but we need to leave." The girl said and started to the front door. A swagger in her walk.

"We? I'm not going anywhere with you. No matter what lies you fed my parents." Katie said standing up and clenching her fist.

"Fine. But don't cry when a creator comes into your house and kills your family in front of your eyes." Sam said looking Katie dead in the eyes. No fear was found in the gray irises

"Katie. Leave with her." Her mother said moving Katie to the door. Tears were forming in all three of their eyes as they all hugged each other. No matter how hard she tried Katie knew she would have to leave. She heard the front door shut and looked at it. "Katie we love you but this is goodbye we will visit you when we can." Her mother said as they walked to the door. Katie saw Sam leaning agents a black motorcycle. She had two helmets in her hand and she looked at Katie and her parents.
