Chapter 3:

Avery's POV:

The soles of my old converse ached as I walked down the deserted highway. I was walking my way to the New burgh train station from Kingston, New York. The brisk air nipped at my nose and I snuggled my jacket closer to my small body frame. Cars passed and the promising blue sky became the fearless, never ending night sky. A red Nissan pulled up by my side but I started to walk faster.

"Hey" the unrecognizable voice echoed into the lonely wilderness.

"Where you headed, in such a deserted and cold area like this?" He questioned slightly worried

I look at him noticing his thick rimmed glasses, and a sharply chiseled chin. He wasn't a bad looking guy.

"Look I'm not trying to hurt or rape you honestly, but if I can help I'm glad to." He said trying his best to let him help me.

"I'm OK." I said still refusing to get in a total strangers car. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't about to piss my pants if the man didn't pull the fuck off.

I mean this guy didn't seem bad but I have no clue who he is or who he was, he could be high, on crack, a rapist, or even a criminal.

"C'mon on, I swear I'd never hurt a fly. You want to see my I.D" he pulled out his I.D it trys to shove it to me to look at.

Well he doesn't seem to awful, he actually seems nice and is willing to let me see his I.D.

"Okay. But I get to hold my pocket knife close, and keep my phone, oh yea and keep all car lights on"

"Okay but I don't think we can leave all the lights on, I'll get into an accident."

The word accident put me in a trance but I didn't allow myself to. This whole thing is to move on and begin to feel conformable in my own skin.

"No lights, no me." I commented seriously, but I knew he'd keep all lights on.

He nodded giving in, so I hopped in putting all my bags into his back seat.

Then a few days later

I sat at the Airport for 3 hours waiting to board the plane. After the stalker guy Justin who took me to the train station we exchanged numbers. After all he was a really nice guy, and he was really good looking. I landed in Oregon, exactly on time and now all I had to do was fly to London.

" Flight 136 to England boarding now." A lady called over the load speaker.

I gathered all my bags and walked to the tall man who was collecting the plane tickets.

I walked into the plane, putting my bags in the little compartment above my seat and sat closest to the window so I could see the night stars, and early sun rise. I yawned, tired from this whole situation. I wasn't sure on how to feel, upset, happy, miserable, or accomplished.

A short girl with long brown messy hair sat next to me. She sat next to me in hand with a middle aged boy sitting next to her. He had slick blonde hair and dreamy blue eyes. They must have been together. Great. Just great. Of course I was seated by a lovey dovey young couple. Instead of getting worked up over my seating arrangement I shoved my headphones into my ears and blasted Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana.

13 hours later

"Buckle your seat belts lady and gentleman we are landing." The pilot said

I sat in my seat breathing hard, trying to prepare myself for this intoxicating ear ache from the landing.

I can't believe I'm here and, I have no fucking clue where I'm going.
