Chapter 6:

Avery's POV:

** 1 Week Later **

I tapped away on the keyboard in the library. Looking for a new school was harder than I thought, but I found a school I think I might like called University of the Arts London. Back in New York I didn't have the opportunity to go to an arts school, maybe this move is for the better and not the worst.

Ever since I left my life has been zipping right past my eyes. I already have a job and I'm applied for a college.

"Hey Avery do you mind working tonight." Spencer asked trying to charm his way into getting me to work.

"Of course" I agreed, I definitely needed the money. I had soo much to pay for, food, new apartment which I will have to get sooner or later, and I want to give Spencer some money for letting me live with him.

"Where you going out tonight? What time would you like me to work?" I stuttered not trying to be noisy but I can't help it

"Um I'm going out with my friend Emma but you can work anytime honestly, I'll be leaving at 6 but I don't know what time I will return so Liam, he works here will close with you"

He instructs while nervously scratching at the back of his neck.

I nodded and walked up the stairs . I hopped in the show and let my hair loosely sit in a ponytail with my wavy curls fall down my back. Fur filled Ugg boots cover my warm black tights as a white cropped sweater fitted my small frame and met at my hips.

5:38 came and I decided it was time to work. I walked into the coffee shop and my greasy bag filled with fresh old bay seasoned fries swung back and forth in my hand.

Blue liquid collided with the black marble tables as I cleaned.

"You new here?" A deep raspy voice said.

I looked up from the table I was working hard on to see a tall guy with brown hair sticking up in a quiff.

I nodded my head and he moved closer to me but I moved back

"That's nice we don't get a lot of new workers it's about we've got some." He smirks

I gulp not really sure of who this guy is, he takes another step towards me and I shuffle behind the chair while tripping over one of the legs.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry love, I didn't mean to frighten you at all. Poor thing I'm so sorry this is all my fault." The boy gushed while managing to pick the chair and I up.

I laughed as he talked and he looked at me with confusion, and hope. I looked up now looking up at the tall boy "Your fine, thanks L-" I stuttered quickly trying to remember what Spencer had said his name was "Liam" he finished.

He smiled as we cleaned up the remaining mess and walked into the kitchen.

"Here Avery" he handed me the small tray filled with drinks and different beverages and pointed to the table that was filled with jocks. "That table right there" he points and I nod my head walking over to the table.

I didn't see it at first, I felt it. The hot coffee hit my shirt and I winced and the iced tea followed along, I look up to see a jock, "Woops" he chuckled loudly and several laughs and footsteps followed him out the door. I looked up to see the plump lips turn into a loud chuckle, all of them laughing at me. I sighed heavily as I went to my knees gathering the now empty cup.

I always ruined everything.

Liam appeared to my side shortly after mumbling curses under his breath "It wasn't your fault Avery, those guys were pricks" he grabs the tray and we both walk into the kitchen.

I went upstairs to change and I layed down on my bed gripping my pillow tightly as memories of Addie came flooding back to me.

"No, no I'm not watch Taylor's kids. You signed up for why don't you do!" I exclaimed "C'mon Ave I haven't seen Justin in like forever just watch them for me pleaseeeee.'

It happened so fast.

The Impact, the screams that soon fell silent .

I winced and tears pricked to my eyes knowing I'll never be able to see her again. Never be able to apologize for the things I've done, I put my hands to my face and quietly sobbed.

I had ruined everything, my perfect family shattered to pieces like a glass.

I sobbed harder but fell short when I heard a small knock on my bedroom door, without warning Liam walked in and I sat up quickly.

Liam sat on my bed, and I quickly wiped my eyes. "You okay Avery?" he took a seat next to me wiping my tears from my face with his thumb. "Your too beautiful to be crying love"

"Now put that beautiful smile back on your face" I don't know what came over me. But in an instant I spoke "Liam, hold me" I took a shaky breath and finished "And don't let me go".
