~Location: Teiko Middle School Gymnasium~
~Pov: 1st~
~Character: (F. Name)~
I frowned as the last point was shot. The winning shot for my middle school basketball team. Teiko had won yet again. The very last game of the season. After the ending speech was given from the coach we would disperse and go our separate ways. Basketball was always my passion though.
I loved every game I played in when I first joined the top team. I was the last member to join and it was so discreet no one knew I even played. Well... except my coach who hated my guts. I never knew why either.
When the buzzer went off symbolizing the end of the game and season my only freind Kuroko Tetsuya, the sixth phantom member, and I stood up to head out of the gym. We weren't selected as starters and we knew we were benched the entire game.
The guys had become so good within the time I played my last game Kuroko and I weren't needed. Kuroko could only pass the basketball while I was considered "too short" to play.
By now I almost lost all my will to even play. The only thing the coach ever taught us was "winning is everything". No it's not. People learn from losses! Sadly it seemed as if Tetsu and I were the only ones who realized that.
The coach never said anything useful and often treated me as a punching bag when someone failed to do something he said. My basketball career in middle school sucked.
Tetsuya and I headed for the gym doors and the crowd filed out as well. The Teiko team started to head for the locker rooms but stopped when they saw us two walking out.
"Oi! Where are you two going?" One shouted. The crowd stopped to watch what was going on, on the court. Tetsu and I turn to see Aomine Daiki watching us. His blue hair didn't even have a drop of sweat. None of them did.
"Leaving." Was my only response to his question. Aomine scowled and walked over to us. "Why?" He said in a demanding tone. I merely glanced up at him. "I don't belong. Tetsu hardly gets to play. We know we aren't suppose to be in the spotlight like you and the others do. So why are you concerned about our whereabouts?"
Aomine looked surprised at my blunt tone. "You're apart of this team though!"
"Are we Daikon?"
"Did you just call me 'radish'?"
"Yep."
Aomine looked surprised yet again and didn't try to stop me and Tetsu from walking out the doors. We didn't even spare a single glance back.

After walking into the courtyard Tetsu stopped and looked at the basketball court nearby. I let out an amused huff before slinging my gym bag off my shoulder and pulled out a basketball.
Tetsu smiled at me and he set his bags down and took off his school jacket before slipping mine off of my shoulders to which I chuckled. I walked onto the court with Tetsu close behind. We started passing back and forth before I took a shot. I missed. The ball hit the rim and bounced off.
I scowled. Normally I could always make a free throw point. I sighed. Then again my shooting has been getting worse ever since the coach stopped my practices. I was turning into Tetsu in a way. Neither of us could make a single shot. I missed every Three pointer and free throw. I couldn't do layups anymore or even dunk because I was too short.
I couldn't even copy Kise's shots aymore. I was suppose to be like every player on the team! That's how I got my nickname "predator". But if I can't shoot I'm just a phantom.
