~CHARACTER: (F. Name) (L. Name)~

~LOCATION: Serin High School: Homeroom~

I sat in the back of my homeroom. Ignoring the other kids that were talking loudly. I sigh softly and look out the window to the courtyard. Last night had left me tired this morning. And having to skip breakfast to make it to school on time wasn't very fun.

Someone suddenly sits at the desk next to mine. I look out the corner of my eye to see a girl. She had red hair and bright green eyes. "Hi. My name is Aslynn. Aslynn Lee." She said with an extended hand. "Uh... (F. Name). (F. Name) (L. Name)." I respond. Aslynn smiles. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance (F. Name)!"

I smile back at her and we start talking. From topics ranging from classes -we were in every class together somehow- to favorite foods and hobbies. We seemed to have a lot in common and I quickly liked Aslynn. It was a little unusual how similar we were and how quickly I grew to like her.

"So. (F. Name). Is it true your on the basketball team?" She asks leaning towards my desk, her eyes full of curiosity. I nod. "Yeah. I think so anyways. The team hasn't been anounced yet." I reply. Aslynn nods and leans back in her seat. "You're the Predator right? A legend from Teiko Middle School?" Aslynn inquires.

"I wouldn't say 'legend' per se, but I was on the team with the generation of miracles." I murmur softly, surprised that someone knew who I was. "Cool." Was all the red head said in response. I smile politely at her. "Do you play any sports?" I question. Aslynn nods. "Yep. I sure do. I play volleyball, soccer and even run track." She replies nonchalantly. I gape at her. "Wow. How do you balance all of that?"

"Practice." Was her answer. I laugh. "Of course. My bad." We continue chatting for the next couple of minutes before I notice Kuroko sitting in the seat behind me. Aslynn apparently doesn't see him but I don't say anything. Kuroko looks up and nods at me before resuming to read his book.

Aslynn taps my shoulder confused as to why I was looking out the window. "What? Is something wrong?" I look at her with a reassuring smile. "No. I just thought I saw someone I knew walking through the courtyard." I smoothly said as I spotted the dark haired second year with glasses walking. I mentally pat myself on the back. I totally didn't just lie right there!

I mean, yes I should've told her Kuroko was there, but I don't want Aslynn to think I've lost it. I really want to make friends here, and not friends just from the basketball team. Selfish? I'm uncertain about that. But Aslynn takes the half lie with ease and continues talking.

Ten minutes after the bell rang, the teacher finally walked in. He hurriedly apologized and started taking role. Of course, my name was called, but when I said "here" the stupid idiot marked me absent! Aslynn piped up from beside me. "Sir, (F. Name) is here. She's sitting right next to me."

"I don't see her Ms. Lee." The teacher replied. I ran a hand through my hair. Oh joy. I thought sarcastically. The teacher walked through the maze of desks and paused by Aslynn's desk. I tugged on the back of his jacket and he spun around. "I'm right here sir." I say. For some reason the teacher still doesn't see me.

Aslynn looks bewildered as does the rest of the class. Who has finally noticed me. The teacher grumbles about students playing tricks on him. "So... does this mean I get to pass the class by doing nothing?" I whispered to the girl beside me. She laughs softly and murmurs a, "I guess so."

We turned to face the front as the weird teacher started his lecture. It just clicked in my mind, that he never called Tetsu's name. I stole a quick glance at my friend and saw he was still reading his book. I return my gaze to the board at the front of the room.
