21. Travel! New York and Countryside

Sylvian meets up with Evrim and Ryo at the airport.

Ryo: You must be Sylvian.

Sylvian: Yup.

Evrim: Are you excited?

Sylvian: I can't wait to see New York again. We've got a couple places I want to visit.

Ryo: After we arrive at the Arinn family house, you two can start roaming the city.

Sylvian: What about Erik? Can't we take him with us?

Ryo: You can, but I'll have to talk with him too at some point.

Evrim: Why would you want to talk to their kid?

Ryo: Business.

Evrim: He's a teen.

Ryo: I know.

A voice is heard all over the airport.

Voice: Please enter the plane for New York from 5:45 PM. It will depart shortly.

Ryo: Let's go.

Meanwhile, at Waku's house.

Taisuke: Waku, can you come here for a second?

Waku: Sure. What's up?

Taisuke: You must obviously remember the quite incident with Kyle, right?

Waku: Of course.

Taisuke: I contacted the police soon after you left for the tournament. And I didn't tell you till now, because I didn't want to worry you... But Kyle's gone.

Waku: Gone?

Taisuke: Yeah. He's gone. The police spoke with his parents and told him what he did. They were in shock... But Kyle didn't go home that day. Or the next. Or the next next.... He hasn't showed up yet.

Waku: Where is he?

Taisuke: I don't know. The police is still looking for him, but they warned us he might try something again, and adviced us that we should leave the city for a while. At least a week, just to be safe, while they look for him more.

Waku: Where are we gonna go?

Taisuke: We're gonna go to grandma. She's 2 hours away from us with the car, so we can easily return when things calm down.

Waku: What about school?

Taisuke: I talked with the principal today. She agreed to let you miss school for this following week. This is not an usual situation.

Waku: Yeah.

Taisuke: We'll be leaving tomorow morning.

Waku: Alright.

Waku goes back up in his room and starts having a flashback:

A 7 year old Waku is in grandma's house with her.

Granny Kinai: Taisuke told me you want to duel him, huh?

Waku: Mmhmm. *nods*

Granny Kinai: *laughs* But you'll need a deck, won't you?

Waku: For sure.

Granny Kinai: What kinds of deck did Taisuke get you to see?

Waku: Ummm, none. Yet.

Granny Kinai: Look no more, look what I've got.

Granny Kinai takes a deck out of her drawer.

Waku: YOU BOUGHT ME A DECK?
