Chapter 2 - Lost You

Hayley's POV

I didn't react but he reacted by cupping his hands around my face. I felt his tongue lick the bottom of my lip asking for access.

I jolted back away from his face leaving us both in shock.

"Um...I better go. That was a mistake and it won't happen again. I won't tell Kelsey or anyone but just..." I didn't finish my sentence because I was so flabbergasted.

"I can drive you back if you want."

"I can walk its fine."

"Your house is like 15 minutes away. Let me drive you back."

I sighed and nodded. We walked outside and I got into his car. We drove in silence as he pulled up into my driveway.

"I can't believe you remember where I live."

"Its not like I completely forgot about you."

I angrily sighed and stepped out of his car, slamming his car door.

"What the hell Hayley!" he yelled from his car window

I turned around. "You still forgot about me! Dick."

"I didn't mean it like that."

"Oh shut up Mitchell. Just go home." I opened the door and slammed it shut.

I look around my house. My mom is a nurse and works nights. My little brother Peter was on the couch on the Xbox. He's 10. My dad is a police officer and is probably sleeping.

"Someone's grumpy. Who was that outside?"

"None of your business. Shouldn't you be in bed?"

"Shouldn't you?"

"I was doing homework sorry geez I didn't know you needed to know my schedule." I rolled my eyes and went into my bedroom and fell asleep.

(The Next Week)

Hayley's POV

Mitch and I got Part 1 done, now its Part 2 that's due Friday.

I walk into film and photography class with looks and snarls directed at me. I kept my head down.

I slid in my seat and waited for class to start. I felt eyes scan me from my right and the bell rings.

"Alright, projects, get started." The teacher says.

I turn in my seat and Mitch smiles. Jerome for the first time since what happened, glances at me and walks away.

"You told?" I whispered yelled.

"No I didn't. Why would I?"

Kelsey walks up to us and sits on Mitch's lap. "Hey baby!" she says. I roll my eyes and turn in my desk not facing them.

"What do you need babe?" he asks

"I wanted to know if you wanted to come over tonight. My parents aren't going to be home so..." she said seductively while playing with his hair.

I mentally threw up in my mind.

"I would but I have to work on this project and Hayley is coming over tonight to work on it." he said gesturing towards me and lightly pushing Kelsey off him.

She scoffed and walked away.

Did Mitch just choose me over his girlfriend? The cheer capitan? The most popular girl in school?

"You know we really don't need to do the project tonight." I said.

"I know, but remember we made a promise. You teach me how to draw and I show you the works of filming."

Why did I ever agree to this?

(skip till they get to Mitch's house)

Hayley's POV

We filmed for our project and did a little gaming and drawing.

"I...I wish I never lost you as a friend."

"Hey, Mitch. Remember we forgot about that."

"I really like your company Hayley. It makes me feel a little safe and sound."

I smiled. "For some odd reason, I do too."

He smiled and chuckled. I looked at his smile and his eyes. Those gorgeous eyes.

I guess I never figured out.

That I'm still into him.
