I am, too, a Touhou fan. I have most of the games (including pc-98 ones) on my laptop. The games I play mostly are Imperishable Night and Hisoutensoku.
Now to answer this question to newcomers: What is Touhou?
Touhou can be defined as a Bullet Hell shoot-em-up game made by Team Shanghai Alice*.
*Team, as in one person, and only person, ZUN.
To this day, 16 official and 10 spinoff games were made, making a total of 26 games in all! Wow.
And I'm gonna list all 26 games for you in chronological order:
(Games 1-5 are for the PC-98 console, exclusive to Japan)
1. Highly Responsive to Prayers
2. Story of Eastern Wonderland
3. Phantasmagoria of Dimension Dream

28. (17) Wily Beast and Weakest Creature
Whew! That was a lot to cover!
The Touhou Project series has a lot of positives. First off, the music in so ENJOYABLE!!! ZUN had no help and was self-taught. I think that's cool. Second, the characters. The characters have a lot of fandom than fans make (like how Cirno is a 9.). Third, the gameplay. It's so satisfying and difficult. But the difficulty doesn't make you give up. It makes you want to play more of it so you can beat your last progress.
However, the only drawbacks of the game are the instruments used and the art. The instruments? How? Well technically not, but during the early Windows games ZUN used a lot of midi trumpets in his songs. Shanghai Teahouse is a good example.
If you have played the games like me, then you know what the art looks like. I literally have two I hate the most. I'll just show one for you so you can know what it ZUN art looks like:
I'll do a critique on this another time, but UGHHHHHH!!!! WHY?!?!?!?
Overall, Touhou Project remains one of the best games in existence due to its music, gameplay, and art..... Anyways, hope you guys got some good info about the series!
PKBYE.
