I don't care what my dad said, he doesn't know anything. He most definitely didn't know what I was going through. Maybe that's a lie, and I know it, but he barely knew Annabeth anyway. He didn't barely know me. He didn't know what I was planning.
I would do something that would make my life worthwhile, that also honored Annabeth. I had one of her drawings, the last she'd ever given for me to look over. A temple to Athena that would last millennium.
I whistled to Blackjack.
I don't know about this boss, your mom told me not to take you anywhere.
"I need to go to Camp. Plus, I'll get you a donut once I'm done." One more empty promise.
Okay, whatever you say Boss.
We flew in silence to Camp. He set me down on the beach. I waved him away and walked down the beach. It was warm, still in the Summer months. The campers were away at dinner, I could hear them laughing with their friends.
What I was about to do... No one would like the idea. I was going to do it anyway, for Annabeth.
I started purposefully off along the beach.
