Annabeth
I was suddenly woken up. "Agh!" Percy screamed. He had just had a nightmare about the pit called Tartarus that we had been trapped in.
I had been sleeping in the Poseidon cabin with Percy because he had no siblings to comfort him after he woke up from a nightmare. If it seems weird that Chiron allowed this since me and Percy were... you know. But it isn't that weird at all. He made us swear on the River Styx that we wouldn't try anything when at camp.
Anyway, back to me and Percy. He had yelled, and was now laying on his cot and panting.
"Percy, it's okay. I know, it's horrible, but we're both here. We're together."
Every time one of us had a nightmare, we said the same thing. We are together.
I pushed his hair out of his face, like his mother does sometimes when she comforts him. Then I just looked at him for a minute. He was covered in sweat and was breathing hard. Why do we have to live like this? Couldn't we just live the rest of our lives without the flashbacks or quests? We had already done our part. We had averted two wars for the god's sakes!
Then, I saw his eyes widen. He convulsed on the bed, but suddenly went still.
"Percy?" I said quietly, afraid.
No answer.
"Percy!"
I quickly felt for a pulse. He didn't have one. Percy Jackson's heart had stopped.
Also, just a question, but does anyone here know if that is grammatically correct, the, 'For the god's sakes.'? Sorry for the cliffhanger, but I'm okay with being evil.
