"You haven't read very many myths, have you?"

He stared at me blankly.

"No, well, did you think that when I lost them, all of them, that I just got over them? No, no, I didn't. It took me centuries to get over the loss of each of them, each and every one. Especially your mother. She's special, Percy."

"SHUT UP, DAD. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I FEEL!" He yelled.

"Okay, I'll go. But I know what it's like."

And with that, Poseidon left the beach, and his son alone.
