His Unexpected Wife

14. Communication

It has been a few months since that incident and I have not yet spoken to Rupert. Not that I have been avoiding the ordeal but I have been busy with a lot of work that I had to leave while both Rhea and I are preparing for the twins arrival. Not long now, a month to be exact, I will be able to hold my babies.

Before anything else, I need to speak with Rupert. He's back in town and had agreed to speak to me. I need to set this straight for Rhea and I and of course for the twins before their arrival.

I arrived at the Le Blue, a popular restaurant and where most business men like me and Rupert meet our client. I can see Rupert sitting on our usual spot, around the corner, next to the window and hidden by the big pot of plant. Private and secluded, perfect for this kind of talking.

Rupert saw me and stand up to shake my hands and I did. "Caleb, it has been a while. I heard about this rumours that you have married another lady and got her pregnant, is that true?"

Right to the point, the main reason that I like doing business with him is because of this - straight to the point. "Yes, I have married and will expecting twins in a months time." I answered him.

Rupert just looked at me - actually glared at me for a minute or so and then he smiled. "I should be disappointed at you but I just could not be. You know that I like you and Camille to be together but if this is what you want, then so be it. I will talk to Camille."

I looked at him in awe, "Thank you for your understanding. I am not hiding my marriage or my wife's pregnancy to you or anybody else. There are just so many things that had happened that I have not informed you of my situation. Also, thank you that you will have a talk with Camille. She did not take the news well and had accidentally push my wife on the floor that caused her to bleed and pass out. I had tried to reason with her but she would not take it."

"I am sorry for that accident. I will have a stern talk with Camille to leave you and your newly found family at peace." Rupert said. "Now, that's out of the way, should we talk about business?"

"I think that is an excellent idea." I replied.

Camille and Rupert's House:

"Dad, have you spoken to Caleb?" Camille asked her father.

"Yes, I have. You did not tell me about the accident his wife had with you. Why?" Rupert demanded an answer.

"I thought it was not important and whatever happens to her is her fault. You should be mad at her for taking Caleb from me, not the other way around!" Camille whined at her father.

"Have you lost your mind! You almost killed both mother and the twins. You are not to go near Caleb and his family. Do you understand me?! if I find out that you did, I will send you packing to your mother in Italy." Rupert said and walked away from the room.

Camille is seething on the sofa. Rhea, you bitch. I will get you and your brats.

Caleb and Rhea's Apartment:

"There are so many gifts that came from your family today." Rhea told Caleb when he got home.

Caleb found Rhea and Agatha sorting through heaps of baby stuff that his family including extended family from overseas have gifted them. "At least we don't have to buy many baby things for the twins." Caleb said and leaned in to kiss Rhea on the forehead and sit next to her.

Agatha felt like she was intruding, left the room to make dinner.

Caleb took the opportunity of them being alone in the room to talk to his wife.

"I have spoken to Rupert today. He was really good with the news of me being married and having twins. I also told him about the incident with Camille a few moths ago and he said that he will have a talk with her about us." Caleb told Rhea.

Rhea stopped what she was doing and looked at Caleb. "I don't know what to say. I know why she is mad at me and our situation because I took you from her. It was supposed to be her in my position - married to you and having your children. I guess I understand what she is feeling."

Caleb just looked at Rhea and gave her a hug. Both him and Rhea have not had any time for themselves to bond and strengthen their relationship since they decided to move in together. He know a bit about Rhea and same with Rhea about him but not the same as like other couples who got to date and know each other. He and Rhea had to tip-toe each other sometimes. he need to remedy this situation.

"We should go on a date and do some house hunting. I know that it is a bit late for dating and getting to know each other at this stage but as people say: "better late than never". I want to know more about you. Heck! we don't even sleep in a room together." Caleb said with a smirk on his face at the end of his sentence.

"I would love to go on a date with you. And about us not sleeping together, we might be able to remedy that once we have been on a few dates and hopefully before the twins arrive." Rhea smiled at me.

"You're on! I can't wait to sleep with you again. It's been ages." Caleb confessed.

*laughing out loud* "OMG! I could not believe that you just said that. It would not be the same as before. I have a big and protruded tummy now."

Caleb kissed the tip of my tummy and said "I love this tummy and the babies in it. I can't wait to have them here with us."

Caleb looked at me and we are about to kiss when....

That's when Agatha came and told us that dinner is ready.

Author: "Really Agatha? Wrong timing"

Agatha: "Sorry...."
