The end of the Summer Holidays came quicker than I expected it would. All those days spent locked inside was well worth it. I felt much more refreshed and calmer than I did before the holidays. This year I really wanted to knuckle down and get on with my subjects. Last year we picked our OWL subjects (Ancient Ruins and Divintation - it made sense as seen as my name sake was a physic or something?) Next year we sat the exams, and I was so worried. I really needed those grades to get into my NEWT classes.
On the last night, Mrs Weasley conjured up a sumptous dinner which ended in an amazing treacle pudding and some of Fred and George's fireworks. We all took our hot chocolates up to bed, and spent the night wispering to each other, until Percy came in at half two and started ranting in a large voice, which surely woke uo half the house.
I was up eagerly the next morning, dressed and in the kitchen helping Mrs Weasley before I started to hear movement from upstairs. Lene always liked to sleep in, so as usual was the last one to coming trapsing into the kitchen with her hair sticking up in all different directions. The boys did most of the work; lifting the trunks into the car and carring all sorts of things around for Mrs Wealsey, whilst us girls stuck to making sure everything was under control and that everything had packed everything.
"Don't worry dear," Mrs Weasley said when Lene and I went to check the room for the fourth time, in fear of leaving things important. "If I find anything I'll have them OWL'd over to you."
Altogether, there was 10 people, eight large trunks, two owls, and a rat squeezed into the car. I was relieved Lene hadn't decided to bring that snake with her, or we'd have been done for.
It took a while to get everyone and thing loaded into the back of the car, all of us sat side by side eachother. "Muggles do more than we give them credit for,, don't they?" She and Ginny got into the front seat, whcih had been stretched so it resembled a park bench. "I mean, you'd never know it was this roomy from the outside, would you?"
Mr Weasley started up the engine and we were off. George forgot his box of Filibuster fireworks, and five minutes after that, we skidded to a halt so Fred could go get his broom. When we were almost at the motorway, Ginny skriekded that she'd left her diay, and by the time we were back going after that we were running really late.
Lene was having a panic attack beside me. "We're going to be late, merlin's beard, we're going to miss the train!"
Eventually, we reached kings cross at Quater to eleven. After we'd all got together our bags onto trolleys, there was barely minutes till the barrier shut. Lene and I ran off from the group, quickly giving Mr and Mrs Weasley a hug and telling them how thankful we were for letting us stay, then off we went through the barrier.
"I hate going through that," I shouted to Lene as we dashed down the platform. "It always feel like we're going to end up smashing into the wall."
"We would've done if we'd been a moment later." She said, still not over the fact that we were a few minutes late. "I hope everyone else got through alright."
We helped eachother bundle our trunks onto the train, as well as the twins, Percy's and Ginny's after they'd got through. I wondered where Harry and Ron were, but the though was quickly wipped from my mind as I heard the horn blast, and we all clambered onto the train.
Lee always arrived hours early, so we knew he'd be in a compartment somewhere with the rest if the Gryffindors's. I prayed that it wouldn't be like the journey how in July as I followed Lene into the compartment. Angelina and Alicia were laughing together and immediatley stopped when they saw our arrival. Alicia stood up and ran towards us, wrapping us in tight hugs, whilst Angelina didn't even both. I sat on Lee's knee as the train left the station after he passed a comment about my weight, receiving looks of disguist from Angelina.
As the train chugged out of the station, my trunk fell from the baggage holder above our seats. I swore loudly, as I heard an almighty smash come from inside. George shot of his chair and pushed it back onto it's side. I pulled the catch on the front and peered inside. All my neatly folded clothes were sloshed to one side, and several of my books were laid open. The thing that alarmed me the most, was the foe glass Grig had bought me for Christmas, as it was smashed all over my clothes. I groaned, trying to think of a potion or spell that would remove glass from robes. It was my school robes as well, so I'd have to be getting changed into it in several hours.
"Go shake it in the Slytherin's comparrment." Lee grinned.
"Well, I'm going to have to shake it somewhere." I pondered aloud, I couldn't exactley do it the corridor, as there'd be glass everywhere.
"How about..." Lene said, pulling her wand out of her pocket. "Accio glass." All the pieces flew into a heap by her feet. "Reparo."
"You can't repare foe glasses." I frowned, wondering how I was going to break it to Grig. "Ahh well, at least the glass is out, thanks Lenora."
"Wish you wouldn't call me that Rosora."
"Lenora."
"Rosora."
We burst out laughing. I turned to Lee and just saw Angelina's face glowering at me like some sort of dog with rabies.
"Can you not go a year without smashing something, Gryffindor?" She said.
"Ladies..." George said. I looked at my reflection in the window beside me and my eyes were bright scarlet.
"Pumpkin pasties." Lee croaked from beside me in a slight whisper. Why was everyone so terrified of my eyes? Lene didn't shit herself whenever they changed colour, yet everyone else acted as though I was You-Know-Who.
I took one from him, frowning. Pumpkin pasties were always my favourite, yet they were always better when Aunty Lou made them, or if my Aunty Rozalina sent them, but they were always moldy by the time they got from Russia.
"This house elf gave me them," Lee said as I took a bite. "He told me to give them to Harry Potter, but I love pumpkin pasties, can't beat them."
"Have you had one?" I asked, wondering who this house elf was.
"Yeah, they're one of the best I've ever eaten!" He said, as he threw up between his legs. I immediatley spat out my third bite of the pasty.
Fred and George burst out laughing, whilst Alicia and Lene ran to help him. I felt slightly sick myself.
"Wouldn't it be great if you could get a pastie that made you vomit?" Fred said.
"Ermm, no." I said, trying to avert from the topic of vomit as I began to feel very ill myself.
"Roz is right." George said. My eyes widened for a moment. It wasn't usual for George to agree with me, unless he was trying to get into my good books. "Pasties are too big and messy. If there was sweets that made you ill, and got you out of lessons and stuff."
"Don't get any fancy ideas." I said, as I too vomited into the pile of sick Lee had already created.
"Rosie, swap places with Angelina and sit by the window, same with you Lee. Swap with Fred."
We swapped places, but the rest of the journey was a blurr. I stood up, to try and get to the toilet before I could vomit on the floor again, but instead fainted into the window and knocked myself out. Great start to the year.
