Chapter 12- The Divorce

Disclaimer: Gosh the world just does not love me because I still do not own anything Glee. Hmm I was lied to when they said I could do anything I want, because the law says I can’t steal the rights of Glee. Depressing is it not?

The Divorce

1 year later

The following year after Wes came over has been a heck of a journey. The adults all agreed it would be financially better if they all bought a place together that was bigger that accommodated everyone’s needs and then some. Kurt and Blaine’s bank account took a huge hit the minute the recession started again. But with Wes and Annabelle everyone in the house was living comfortably. They decided to move to a different state, Washington, more specifically Seattle, so they could forget all about the last year and its struggles.

“Please Wes don’t leave I swear I can change. It didn’t mean a thing to me.” David pleaded.

“I’m sorry David I just don’t trust you anymore.” Wes said packing all of his and Annabelle’s stuff into cardboard boxes with tears prickling his eyes.

“Will I ever get to see her again?” David said with little hope in his voice.

“Yes, but you will only get to see her every other weekend for a day. She will spend the day with you sleep here and in the morning I will be here to pick her up. Do you understand David?”

“Yes.” David said with defeat, the tears now more freely falling.

Wes sighed with little tears. He has gotten better about crying every time he relives those memories. Used to he would sulk for hours on end about the ones he has lost. People were shocked to hear even Jeff and Nick came down for about a week to see how he was doing, that was interesting.

“Why do you think he would do something like that?” Jeff asked innocently.

“I really don’t know, but I do know is that he did cheat on me. I still ask myself if I was ever good enough for him.”

“You are Wes, he just doesn’t deserve you.” Nick said with comfort in his voice. He placed his hand on Wes’s shoulder giving it a light squeeze. Wes just sighed in return. He knew logically they had a point, but emotionally he just couldn’t get past it.

Wes got up off his and Annabelle’s king size bed. Out of everyone Annabelle seemed to take the news the worst, understandably. She still cried in her Papa’s chest. She felt as though this was her fault and every night Wes would have to stroke her head telling it wasn’t her fault and that he loved her.

Annabelle got very excited the days she got to see David. She always felt happy and full when her 2 dads always said hello before Wes left leaving them to do what they wanted. David would always take her out and spoil her rotten with gifts and his love. When they got back home she would sleep in David’s bed trying to spend the most time with her daddy.

She hated being woken up knowing she would have to say goodbye in a few hours. But when Wes picker her up she was once again happy to have both of her dads almost feeling normal again, but when Wes picked her up she would kiss David goodbye and leave with Wes, not noticing when Wes silently cried.

When they got home Annabelle would play with a 5 year old Kimmie and a 3 year old AJ her home life always happy when she was with her cousins. After a wonderful dinner she would go to her and papa’s room to get ready for bed. She changed into her princess footie pajamas already feeling the warmth and security that they brought. She quickly brushed her teeth and joined her papa in the bed.

“Papa?” Annabelle questioned.

“Yes princess?” Wes answered after turning the television on.

“Why did you and daddy get divorced?”

“Oh honey he did a very bad thing and I can’t trust him anymore.”

Annabelle listened and after the short conversation she laid her head down on her papa’s chest and fell asleep not long after. Wes stayed up again and just stared at the ceiling.

“Why did you do it?” Wes asked angrily.

“Because I was stupid and lonely.” David replied looking guilty.

“You did it in our own home, in the bed we share together.”

“I’m sorry Wes, just don’t leave me please.”

“I don’t want to hear your apologies, because we are through.”

Morning.

Wes awoke to find that Annabelle was still asleep on his chest with her blanket wrapped around her. Wes looked at Annabelle how her beautiful tanned skin made her green eyes pop more than they already did. The way her long black hair swept her face. Through this whole divorce Wes would always be glad that he had Annabelle through the whole thing.

Wes gently prodded Annabelle awake. Annabelle looked like Cinderella waking, just beautiful. Annabelle would make someone happy one day. Wes was a proud father and would always be.

They got up and left the room to go eat breakfast with the rest of their family. At breakfast everyone giggled and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Wes stared at everyone with happiness in his eye. Annabelle and Kimmie were talking in the corner while AJ cried when either Kurt or Blaine didn’t focus on him. It was an adorable sight. For once after the divorce Wes was happy. He just smiled and fondly continued to watch while everyone ate and played with each other. Wes just thought, “This is my family and I am damn proud to be a part of it.” He got up and went and played with the girls, chasing them around.
